Maine, Alaska, Hawaii

Recommended Posts

Those pictures were taken on the one day a year one might be brave enough to try and get in the water.

j/k Maine is beautiful and well off the beaten path, if you like nature you will absolutely love it. I used to get up as far as Bangor for work, as well as a lot of time at the Bath Iron Works and lots of time around Portland. Bangor was a haul from Boston for a day trip.

Alaska is frozen 10 1/2 months out of the year...that makes sense

Hawaii and Maine is a surprise to me

Not all of Alaska The "panhandle" comes down pretty car into Canada... And I mean, it's not like there aren't snakes there. Just not poisonous ones I guess.

Snakes do make it on Hawaii once and awhile. But they are killed pretty quickly. Alaska migth not have snakes but the mosquitoes survive the winter some how.

I was at BIW for 2 winters while they built a ship I was stationed on... being a San Diego native, those were the worst winters I've ever encountered....

... but both weeks of summer were very nice...

I did some work up there in the late 80s early 90s, in a building next to where they were building the Arleigh Burke. My younger stepson was @ 6 or 7 at the time...when he graduated HS he ended up being stationed on it.
