There is still some bargains to be had out there as far as free agency goes, but considering what we've already done, cap space notwithstanding, would you consider this to be our greatest free agency class (on paper) ever?

My personal opinion is, yes.

When we add a vet DT/OG I'd agree with this. Definitely the most active in recent memory.

I wanted to add that as the benchmark, but there are very different circumstances. I don't think we had nearly as many holes to fill that year and SD was pretty much the one big signing that carried us over to the Superbowl the next year. EDIT: I feel like an idiot. Jake was signed that same offseason.

On paper, we have addressed several different positions with starters from other teams on really cheap deals.

So, I guess I mean in terms of both quantity and quality.

Okay, so this was our class of 2003:
2003 Unrestricted Free Agents Signed Pos Player Team G Doug Brzezinski Philadelphia QB Jake Delhomme New Orleans WR Kevin Dyson Tennessee LB Greg Favors Buffalo WR Ricky Proehl
St. Louis

Problem is, that is from our official website, yet, they don't even have Stephen Davis listed. All things considered, it's hard to beat any FA class that includes your starting QB for the next 8 years or so.

Okay, so maybe this is the second best FA class.

It's certainly one of our better FA, and it's only Gettleman's first year. To those laughing, you want Hurney back?

What about the year we brought in Keyshawn Johnson?

I'm hoping this is sarcasm.
