Shabazz is not a team player at all. You can tell that just by watching him play. Or heck, by looking at his statistics. How does he not even average ONE assist per game on a pretty loaded UCLA team? His scoring is not very efficient and he can't do anything besides shoot. If he wasn't a big name coming out of high school, he would be a late first round pick at best.

It's not media, when specific GM's are saying he will fall out of the top 14.

And you can't make up a poor combine performance and your age...

Your better than that chuck lol.

Lol. I love debating with you this time of year.

I respect your imo, but really give me the name of the GM. Why do everything has to be anonymous?

It's all media really to me.

I see Burke as a Kemba clone.

If Burke can score he will be a solid player, but if he has trouble scoring; he will struggle just like Kemba did his rookie year.

It really has nothing to do with how talented these two guys are, it's the fact that they're so damn small that they can't run a pick and roll offense lol.

Bazz was pretty much the only scoring option on that Bruins team.

We need just about anything right now.  We may possibly lose Henderson so that would require some sort of G/F combo that can rebound and score.  I am leaning more towards a strong inside presence though.  Bennett (even tho he is 6-7), Alex Len, or Zeller.  But then I think that we may be better off to just try to sign some big men in Free Agency.  I just don't know I am at a loss right now.

Bennett's enormous 7'1 wing span makes up for his lack of size.

To put this in perspective, Bennett's 7'1 wings span is longer than Cody Zeller's (who is taller than Bennett by five inches)

Bennett's wing span is also longer than (Kelly Olynyk's, Mason Plumlee's, Dario Saric's, Mike Muscala's, Erik Murphy's, Richard Howell's, James Ennis's, DeShaun Thomas's, Tony Snell's, Reggie Bullock's, and Sergey Karasev's) who are all taller than him.

Len wouldn't be a bad pick. TBH, I'm not real crazy about any of this year's "top" prospects.

Man, we can't win for losing...  Unbelievable.  I actually fell asleep early last night after a long day, then I briefly woke up to the last minute of the game and then watched overtime, saw the lottery results, and went back to sleep.

Depressing.

I feel like as thin as this draft is, the 4th pick is almost like "no man's land."  Not anyone significant that I think many, if any, teams are looking to trade up for, and the two, possibly three, guys that have the most potential are already off the board (Noel, McLemore, Oladipo).  This completely sucks.

My vote was always for Noel or Oladipo, but despite many of the expert projections having Porter as the 3rd best prospect, I don't see him going before Oladipo.  Therefore, I think Oladipo is gone when we pick, and that would leave me with Anthony Bennett as the only guy I'd really want at 4.

And I want no part of Len, I'd take Zeller before him.

I see 1 of 2 scenarios playing out.

Scenario 1) Everyone stays put.

  1. Cleveland- Noel or McLemore
  2. Orlando- Noel, McLemore, or Burke
  3. Washington- Noel or Porter
  4. Charlotte- McLemore or Oladipo
  5. Phoenix- McLemore, Oladipo, Burke, or Porter (whoever is left)

I could see Noel actually falling to 3 but no further. Washington would pick him up and be all in for Wiggins or Parker next year (that would be a scary team).

Scenario 2)

  1. Cleveland- Noel or McLemore
  2. Phoenix (via Orlando)- Noel or McLemore
  3. Washington- Porter
  4. Charlotte- Oladipo
  5. Orlando- Burke

In this scenario, Phoenix gives up something to trade up and grab whoever is left between Noel and McLemore. Orlando only does this if Burke is truly their guy. They get the same guy while adding another asset or 2. I'm sure they would be confident that he falls past Washington and Charlotte who are set at the PG position with young stars.

Well I am honestly not sure at all who I want. I guess I kind of know who I don't want so I will talk about that.

I don't want Bennett!! We would be a very very small team!!

I don't want McClemore! Too passive. He would be a complementary star on a team with an experienced Alpha dog. With us he will not be a good number one option

I don't want Trey Burke! I do feel like Kemba is our PG of the present and future

So I guess that leaves me with Shabazz, Lin, Oladipo and hell even Cody Zeller. I wanted Noel, but now that isnt possible so I would be happy with any of these 4.

1. Shabazz: Aggressive and has that personality that I like in a player

2. Lin: Size that you can't teach and can combine with Biz

3. Oladipo: I feel like a better upside Hendo. I would still keep Hendo if at all possible

4. Zeller: He's got actual post moves

1. Noel

2. Ben McLemore

3. Anthony Bennett

4. Trey Burke

5. Victor Oladipu

6. Otto Porter

After Noel and McLemore, i think there are 4 other players that have potential to be future all-stars in the league and the good news is we will end up with one of them.  I am hopeful that the Hornets Big Board looks like this and we end up with Bennett at #4... Larry Johnson 2.0, The Canadian Grand-ma-ma.  I think that Trey Burke will be in play with us at #4 even though we have Kemba playing PG because under the new front office philosophy, take the BPA and not to fit the position needs... Same goes for Otto Porter who would be competing with MKG for the SF spot on the team.  Going to be interesting to see how the top of the draft plays out, but I think it is safe to assume that Noel and McLemore will be gone by #4.
