UVA running back Clifton Richardson has announced that he will transfer to Liberty University from the University of Virginia. Richardson is a 2011 prospect who was graded as a four star recruit and the 142nd overall player in the country in the 2011 class as well as the 5th best player in Virginia in 2011. In two seasons for the Cavaliers, Richardson recorded 425 yards and two touchdowns on 96 carries. Richardson chose Liberty over Wisconsin, Marshall, Old Dominion, Richmond, and North Dakota State.

It doesn't stop their for Liberty as they are said to be the leader for UVA quarterback Phillip Sims. Sims who finished in a three way tie on the depth chart at UVA, has been ruled ineligible and will now transfer out of UVA. Sims a four star prospect that was ranked as the number one overall quarterback in the 2010 recruiting class and the 32nd overall player in the 2010 recruiting class out of Chesapeake, Virginia transferred from Alabama to UVA because of playing time and is now transferring out of UVA due to grades. In 2012 Sims recorded 1,263 passing yards for 9 touchdowns and 4 interceptions to go with 18 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Sims is the second quarterback to have transferred out of UVA in the past year as Michael Rocco has transferred to Richmond out of UVA to play under his uncle and Richmond head coach, Danny Rocco (who happens to be the former Liberty head coach).

I have a friend that is close to the situation who has said that Sims is likely deciding between Liberty and Norfolk State.

A combination of Sims and Richardson could possibly be one of the best QB-RB tandems at the FCS level.

    • i just took this test again for shits and i got infj, whereas last year i got intj. so my thinking got flipped to feeling but it's still fairly close. other than that, i'm still an introvert but it went down from last year from 72% to 59%. i'm not really surprised because i got a job in nyc in the last year that has forced me to adapt to social interaction. other than that there were no massive changes though.
    • Jesus. A 3-4 OLB at #8? Two major off-field character concerns in the 2nd round? Another slow WR in the 3rd? Never. Gonna. Happen. There's at least a decent chance that his top three picks won't even be on our draft board. Gettleman has said numerous times in the past that guys who aren't scheme fits for us aren't on our draft board. There goes McKinley. Given our past with guys like Carruth and Hardy, there's zero chance that Mixon is on our board. Given Robinson's off-field issues involving a stolen gun, I'd say there's a better than average chance that he's not on our board either. You'd be hard pressed to come up with a more unrealistic mock draft for the Panthers if you set out to try to do just that.
