You'd  have to be a stupid dumbass to pick RGIII over Cam.

RG3 has had two torn ACLs (same knee) in three years and thrived in a West Coast system where defenses had to worry about RG3 running on them. Let's see how RG3 does in a traditional offense first you Hogs (Redskin fans) before you start proclaiming him 'better than Cam Newton' cuz right now I believe Russell Wilson is 2x the passer that RG3 is in the NFL.

Cam isn't afraid to throw a pass inbetween defenders and on out-routes. Say what you want about his 58% completion rate and his 12 interceptions but Newton isn't hesitant, and he's had success in traditional formations.

And this is where the comparison needs to end. Cam played in a very vertical passing offense where RGIII played in the West coast offense. Everyone was so high up on RGII and his passer rating and completion percentage but forgets that the West Coast offense is designed to replace the run game with very short passes. So any decent QB would have high ratings in it.

To the point Cam is in the offense best suited for him. RGIII is no were as durable as Cam and to me appears to be another Mike Vick type QB. A QB who runs and is as tiny as RGIII with now 2 ACl injuries will not last long at this level what so ever. RGIII Babied the ball and would only throw to open players where cam would take a chance for a home run pass. Even though it pissed me off on several of Cam's throws, I give him credit for not being affraid.

Lets see how Russel, Collen, Luck and RGIII do this season after all the DC's get a full year of tape to review and game plan for them like they did with CAM!

I especially love when people use RG3's completion % as a sign of his greatness... nothing like a WCO to artificially inflate that completion %.

We don't need to hate on every QB(except Luck) being compared to Cam. They're both great for their team and do have similar talent, injury aside. And, no, the read-option and west coast offense are not gimmicky. It takes a smart coach to know their personnel and apply the best offensive system. Which is what the redskin did. Can't blame RG3 for running the plays called and successful at it. RG3 won't be the last QB compared to Cam. There are so many QBs in college now with similar skill set with Cam en route to the NFL. Heck, if ej manuel does well every time you hear his name you'll hear Cam's.

Starting with Luck

As much as I hate Luck and the hype that follows him, I believe he will be the most successful of the 4 mentioned above.  Luck is a good pocket QB with a good arm.  He should improve on his decision making.  Fans aren't going to be on the Bandwagon if he continues with 18 Ints every season.

Russell, IMO will be the second most likely to succeed.  Good arm, smart and a great athlete.  Size is his only issue and he has been addressing that his who life.  Game tape might slow him down some but he does seem to have the nack of making something out of nothing.

Colin,  I think with tape he will struggle this year.  His #1 Target Michael Crabtree is out and teams are going to figure him out quickly.  He is still going to be dangerous because he is big a powerful like Cam but I think he focuses on his #1 target too much.

RGIII is a great athlete no doubt, has a win win mentality and you gotta love it, but this isn't college what made him so successful at Baylor is not going to transition to the NFL all that much.  2 knee operations already on the same knee?  Now add a years worth of tape.  DC will game plan to contain him.  His natural instincts will push him to run.  He'll get lite up again and sooner or later he'll lose that mobility that makes him so special.  If he loses that mobility now he becomes Jeff Garcia all over.  Skins IMO will regret the day the dumped all those draft picks for a QB with tons of potential but cannot stay on the field.

Do you think Cam will end up succeeding then?

Luck's arm isn't that good.

Luck doesn't have elite arm strength, but it's more than adequate to get the job done. He can make all the throws.

I think Luck is going to be very close to what Aaron Rodgers is. He's a very good pocket passer who has the athletisism to escape the pocket when he has to and can throw well on the run.

Luck is very athletic, more so than Rodgers. Luck could do everything Newton does but that isn't part of his game. His athleticism is vastly underrated by fans.
