I loved it too.

I'm trying to figure out how long this can go for since they use such recent events. pretty soon the show will have to pass current events, no?

Sorkin said it goes right up until the Sandy Hook shooting. Season 3 will begin with it.

When asked if the show will touch on the tragic Newtown shooting, Sorkin says the second season will "just get up to Sandy Hook" and implies that Season 3 may include it.

He adds that it's a terribly difficult thing to write.

"Newtown was a profoundly important moment to all of us and the last thing you want to do is handle it poorly," says Sorkin.

Sorkin is so good at tightly-bound scripts and character plot continuance, yet people hate him because he molds his work to his vision.

When will brilliant shows hit a critical mass and stick around?

I really hope The Newsroom sticks around. Incredible writing, characters and the fact that they are real stories and people draws me in. I haven't been this excited about a show since The Wire.
