Roy says there are going to be serious consequences and that they have discussed suspending him. He goes further to say, and I'm paraphrasing, that no one player is bigger than the program. The poop is going to hit the fan for PJ and he's more than likely going to be suspended for quite a bit of time if not for the season. You initial statement was that you were curious why he hasn't done it already - and he clearly tells you why. No one gives a poo whether or not you agree with the timeline of how it's all going to go down or if you think it should have already happened. Roy's point is that they're not in school, not practicing, and don't play for months...TRANSLATION....it doesn't make a difference (other than to you haters) whether it's done now or before they get the team back together, but something is going to happen.
Most schools go ahead and suspend the player or players to show the NCAA that they are serious and in hopes the NCAA will feel that the self imposed punishment is enough. Remember when YOUR school self imposed penalties on the football team? It wasn't that long ago or do you not really care about their football program?
