Thanks General.

Can you keep an eye out or post any updates about Barner? I'm kind of excited to see what he can do as far as catching passes out of the backfield and on special teams.

i had wanted to post that vid. He totally owned Star on that snap, made me worry about Star..

The epitome of a Training Camp doomsayer...

It seems to me Star has always relied on his brute strength and explosiveness to get by in college. At this level he'll need to be coached up a bit on footwork and technique. In his own words, he's not much of a "finesse" guy. I'm guessing the coaching staff in college kinda just let him do his thing and unleashed him on the poor opposing o-line, but now he'll have to learn about leverage and the proper stance and all that technical shizz. He's gonna be a beast though!!!!

Agreed, that's the perception I've always had of Star. He's a physically gifted defensive tackle (especially for his size -- he's no Ngata though) who has relied on those traits and attributes to win in the trenches. Things work differently in the NFL however. Lotulelei is going to need to work on technique and leverage in order to reach his true potential. He's got the tools but he needs proper coaching.

Even if Lotulelei is the poor man's Ngata, that's way more than we've had since Kris Jenkins.

I can't believe people are already even starting to evaluate Star.

A rookie in his first ever pro practice getting owned by a guy with a year's pro experience is not something I'd worry too much about.

We knew he was raw and there would be some transition. I still think he'll be fine in time.
