Of course a 7-6 win would be less crap. We would actually be 1-0! But we lost. And since we are throwing around IFs and MAYBEs, the seahawks could have scored more instead of taking a knee in victory formation.

Damn that victory formation. Thank God no one else uses it.

So if we had won with less points than all but two NFL teams, the fact that we scored less than 29 other teams wouldn't mean anything?

This makes no sense. Every NFL games has missed opportunities. Just because we are Panther fans doesn't make our ALMOSTs better than anyone else's. Hopefully the offense will be better in Buffalo and we won't be looking for ways to rationalize Shula's ineptitude....again.

Yeah.  Missed opportunities do happen.  But they can be taken into consideration when talking about offense as a whole.

And the point is that the offense or play calling wasn't the issue.  We put ourselves in positions to be successful and score plus, we put ourselves in a position to win the game.

The proof will be in the overall picture at the end of the season, but Shula outperformed Chud in every metric in regards to last season against Seattle, including points.  Nobody talked about his lack of aggressiveness.

So was Shula more aggressive than Chud since he outperformed him in every way?

No it would still be crap...less crap, but still crap. The point here is that Shula sucks. He's proven that he sucks again and again. I'm not asking for a miracle, just play to your players strengths...move Cam around, let him throw deep occasionally. Look at it from Seattles perspective. I'm sure their defensive coaches/playera were thrilled to hold us to 7 points with all their injuries/suspensions on the road with an early start time. There's a reason all those underneath throws were open.

If you think Shula is a better OC than Chud we have a fundamental difference of opinion and we will always disagree. I've worn the Panther apologist shoes before but they make my feet hurt. Not anymore! A Buffalo beat down is the only way to begin to right this ship.

So by catching them with 4 or 5 defensive starters out and having Cam play small ball, we managed to bump up his comp % and netted a 4 point swing.

Maybe next time they'll sit everyone and we can jump into the low teens. Really put some pressure on them.

Cam completed the same number of deep passes in this game as he did in the last one and did so for more yardage with a higher completion percentage.

Last year they held us to a field goal.

Cam Moved better this game than he did in the last one.

The team had a much more successful run game this year.

Given the sample size, I'm not real sure what strength wasn't played to.

I don't think our offense was good enough in either game and that's my point. We scored 1 more point than last year?! What does that even mean? It means "Oh no, we suck again!" If anybody in that locker room is saying "Well guys we did a little better than last year against the mighty seahawks" we are already done. I refuse to think like that. They can play better and as Panther fans we deserve better. You can rationalize it anyway you like but 7 points is still just 7 points. It's not good enough and we are 0-1 AGAIN.

This all makes me feel better, until i realize i've heard and seen all this before. We beat Buffalo, we'll have people on here declaring Super Bowl. We have to get consistent, and all that falls on coaching. If we're 0-2, Rivera might as well not come back on the plane.
