...that although overall it's a similar system, Newton and the offense are still adjusting to a new offensive coordinator.

Week one was their first 'live ammo' game under Shula. Thus, it's probably reasonable to expect a few issues and hiccups in the transition. Improvements in game two, even if they're only minor, will be a good sign.

If it still looks the same after week four or so, then I might be concerned. But for now, a glitch or two is to be expected.

Cam still needs to do a better job.  He isn't waiting for the play to develop and he needs to look off defenders and not stare down the receiver.

I think he's been coached to get the ball out as quick as possible.

Good strategy when you have OL issues, but not always conducive to a longball attack.

But Cam threw for 400 yards in his first game under Chud's system?

I think the game plan vs. Seattle was to beat them with the TE and running game. We did not want the Seattle DBs to become factors.  We got too cute--but we should have won.  Buffalo picked a bad week to play Cam---250 yards, 2 TD passes, 1 rushing.  Carolina 34, Buffalo 10

Can't afford to wait until week 4 to sort it out...we could very well be 0-3 at that point and then the season's DOA.

The knock on Chud was that he was always way too 'pass happy'.

It'll be a transition now going to a more balanced system.

Not saying you wait till week four to fix issues.

Said if it's still having issues by week four, I'll be concerned.

A WHOLE PIE!

If we keep dropping easy passes and fumbling in the red zone it won't really matter.

Sadly true

Receiving corps didn't do Newton any favors this past Sunday.

And Williams...ouch :(

Wasn't a big reason Shula was hired was because he agreed to a one year deal of continuity with the offense?

We shall see if it pays off.

I have my doubts.
