Slowly working my way through the story.  Really enjoying the game, and the story line feels better than most GTA's.  Really like the idea to use three main characters....

Michael and Trevor become really annoying. I wish they did more with the triad tbh

It was an amazing game, but it felt spread too thin at some parts in the story that they could have fleshed out a bit more.  I still haven't played the online... thinking about starting it up and trying it out tonight.

Online is where it's at.  My friends and I are having a blast.  So much variety, and playing with friends is always better.

What if you has no friends to play with on Xbox Live?

Still fun?

I look at it like going to a movie or any other form of entertainment...you may enjoy yourself going solo, but it's always better with a friend.  And when I say friend, I don't necessarily mean people you know IRL.  I live in a fairly rural area so I don't know many people personally that game, especially around my age.  So I play with a bunch of people I met up with on Xbox Live.  Still have a blast.

I have heard a lot of complaints about online - disappearing characters, vehicles, property, numerous microtransactions, etc.

Worked smooth for me last night.  I know it was buggy as fug that first week, and the first few days it was unplayable (which is why I haven't bothered with it, I couldn't even log on the first day I tried it).

I'll give R* some credit though... they seem to have been on the damn ball fixing all that stuff up extremely quick considering how messed up it was.  That online was completely fuged up at launch.

Yeah, it was terrible the first couple of days.  I had a friend who lost his level 27 character.  Personally I haven't ran into any of the problems listed above, but others have.  Rockstar has been patching pretty quickly though, and it's running pretty well for most people right now I believe.

So I've been playing around on the map after finishing the missions.
I found the big cargo plane that crashed into the Alamo Sea - I found a bunch of weapons in the wreckage. They seem to respawn every few seconds, so it was hard to tell where I've already searched. Has anyone else checked it out and found something valuable?
I did find about $21k total in two spots off the west coast looking for submarine parts.

I held off the military for like 15-20 minutes trying to steal a fighter jet. Then I was shot down in like 5 seconds once I got it.

Also it seems characters die much easier now. I don't think I died in a vehicle accident the whole time I played missions. On the stats page, my longest fall survived in a vehicle are all over 800 feet. Now I can't even ride down a mountain without getting clotheslined by a tree branch.

I still haven't checked out the online. I'm sure I'll dive into it once I beat story mode. Between Fifa, single player GTA, Wind Waker and Battlefield 4 Beta my extra time to play more is severely lacking....

Does anyone know if you can replay those missions and still play the market the same?

I'm thinking this is just something you'd have to keep playing for your weekly property income.

I noticed there is an option to start a new game. I thought about it so I could max money. But that thought lasted all of about 5 seconds.

There is a lot of money in the ocean - I've found somewhere between 90-300k there (not sure if one briefcase was 20k or 200k - in a huge shipwreck off the east coast) and the briefcases respawn if you change characters. Also the nuclear waste cleanup pays pretty good. It won't get you near 200 million, but its worth the effort, unlike many missions.

Rob the armored cars at around 5k a pop, shoot cash registers for about 400.

Playing the stock market will only give you about 25-40% increases, so that alone wouldnt put you at 200 mil either.

I've heard a lot about the gun/money stuff off the coast. Do they have set spawns or random ones in the ocean?

not sure - I know they respawn if you swap characters right after you first find it, then swap back. I haven't gone back to find them after I went on in the world
