4-4 is a minimum. Would presumably be still in the hunt for the NFCS and a playoff berth. Barely.

But it would be our best start since...

2012    2-6

2011    2-6

2010    1-7

2009    3-5

Agree with you big time here.  It would be our best start in 5 years.

That being said, I don't know that I want a mid-season coaching change anyway because it will likely not help anything.

Final record for me to not want coaching change is 9-7 with Rivera showing significant improvement in the following : in game strategy adjustments, time management (especially late game situation), general aggressiveness.

5-3 is my answer.  I don't care how we get there as along as we are at least 5-3.

If we lose our 4th game before week 9, he needs to be shown the door.

I would need to see 8-0 to want to keep RR.

if Rivera is still our coach in week 9 i don't see a point in firing him at all.

if he gets blown out next week, bring someone else in.

otherwise, sit on him for the season.

Looking at the schedule, 4-3

That said...

I generally over-defend coaching staffs, placing most blame on execution at the player level...  I feel much of that still applies here, as well, HOWEVER, if we go 0-3, I'm ready to see what someone else can do to improve the team in an attempt to salvage yet another lost season...

5-3 for me... and I'm with you Nance, I used to defend them too... and player performance is an issue, but when the coaches constantly make decisions that take player performance out of the picture, something has to give.

If these coaches could genuinely say "we put it in the players hands and they blew it" I wouldn't say a word... but they haven't.

I know you weren't talking about a mid-season change, just where we are at that point so I would also say 6-2.

I wanted him gone last year but was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt once he was kept. No more passes from this corner. He either blows us away with how well his "plan" is working or dump him unceremoniously.

If he goes 0-3 he shouldn't make it through the bye week.

another vote for 6-2.

i need to see a total turnaround from what he's been allowing so far for me to have a shred of confidence.

I'm not sure I can be convinced.

It'd have to be more than just the record.  I'd need to see near miraculous change in the team.

Before the season we all agreed that the losses weren't hurting Rivera, but its the way we lose. That hasn't changed this year
