Like I said in my thread I earlier - they've got to go at the VERY LEAST 3-1 against the Cards/Vikes/Rams/Bucs.

Honestly the schedule is easier for the next 4 games...if they can't win at least three out of those 4, Rivera should be fired immediately.  Schedule last year was brutal until late in the year.

I would not sleep on the Saints. They are a for real team and carved up a better secondary than ours. Going to have to play smart football and contain Brees like every year.

At the time I penned this they were a 2-0 team that won in dramatic skin of their teeth ways. Now at 4-0 they seem a bit more formidable yet pressuring Brees is still the key to victory.

What's the difference this year to last?

At this point, absolutley nothing. Not in this mindset. Only difference is this year is still unwritten. The huddle is hot and cold, but in reality this team still looks like it has the same issues it has had since Rivera has some here (closing out games, same problems with players). Until Rivera wins more than loses he is still what I think he is.

There defense still sucks but they are one of the best teams in the NFC right now. Payton is one hell of a play caller.

Well the difference this year is that the defense is much more improved. Nakamura isn't the last line of defense and Fua isn't getting manhandled and letting third string RB get 150 yards.

Still can never be too sure because there is no telling if Rivera will continue to be aggressive or revert back to his old ways.

I'm still being cautiously optimistic.

Not when Breeze is on his ass, back, or in the give it to me balls deep position.  His 5'9" frame finally gets broken this year.

Feeding frenzy.

Gettleman coined the phrase, our front 4 will burn it into moley, moley, moley's grandchildren's vernacular.

Star and KK want to come out and play.  CJ and Kraken been waitin' all day.

Last year at this time, we kept it close with bad teams (Tampa and NO) and got destroyed by the Giants.

This year, we kept it close with good teams and destroyed the Giants.

Our defense is looking something fierce, special teams are spot on, and...dare I say...our OLine is looking pretty decent (in comparison to last year, at least).

Even though the records are the same at this point, the two years are very different. We're actually looking at a VERY favorable schedule in the coming month or so because the NFC is dogshit.

The next 5 games are crucial.. Its the "soft" part of the schedule. After that we are @SF, host NE, @MIA tough 3 game stretch... Soon after we play NO twice in three weeks as well as @ATL. We must prove ourselves the next few weeks because the road doesn't get any easier.

It want be about the front four but the secondary and if they can not bite on what Brees does to you and shut down sprolls. I will bet you a grand that NO will use short passes and screens to slow us down. They will try to take the line out of the equation.
