The reason Panther fans are so happy now isnt because of the win per se..

Anyone who ever thought that we would have the #1 pick in the draft doesnt know anything about this team. Our 2 losses were due to coaching. We should have beat Seattle which is probably the best team in the NFC, and Buffalo was just a nightmare come true where we all saw Rivera losing the game in the last 3 or 4 minutes with every decision he made.

I think the reason we all felt so defeated after 0-2 is because of the significance of a bad start and the chances to make the playoffs, not really because we thought the team sucked. Plus we saw no improvement on Rivera's habit of starting slow that always comes back to bite us.

Anyway, I didnt mean to be negative. We just had a great win. It is just that we should have closed out the other two games as well, and I hope that doesnt haunt us later on.

To have a legit shot at the playoffs, we need to win all 4 of these 'winnable' games coming up. There is no such thing as an easy win in the league, so we can not afford for any more coaching blunders. I hope that Sunday was an awakening for coach as to how to use this team to close out games. Cam can always get a yard.

I'm still calling 9-7 at best. I'm not convinced we didn't just beat up a wounded duck in the Giants. There is still a ton of football for Rivera to screw up.

Does Arizona have D. Washington back by the time they play us? I have respect for that defense.

It would appear we have a shot, but I really don't want to think about playoffs or being over .500. I just want them to win the next game. Looking far ahead it could go for us or against us. We've played one good opponent (Seattle). We will from the looks of it now, be getting teams when they might have good players returning from suspension or injury and unfortunately the Saints D seems legit this time around. It's gonna be a battle.

I like the unpredictability I've seen with the teams so far because it makes any game seem winnable, but that can work for us or against us..

in monty python fashion this quote is fitting for us panthers fans right now:

Some things in life are bad.
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble. Give a whistle.
And this'll help things turn out for the best. And...
Always look on the bright side of life.

keep pounding....

I don't care if people think I am naive or a homer or stupid for talking playoffs.

I like feeling good about my team. I like searching for optimism. I like hope.

I think being a negative nancy is just a defense mechanism by a fanbase that is used to disappointments. If you expect the worst than the team can no longer hurt you. If they lose that is what you expected if they win you are pleasantly surprised.

Some of us are like that person who fell in love with someone, then they cheated on you, so you try to tell all your buddies "Oh I never liked her anyway" even though we all know you cried in your pillow for two days. Then you sabotage every future relationship just so no one can ever break your heart again.

Not me. I am a optimist. I believe in hope. And whenever the Panthers provide me with moments that give me hope I embrace it. Maybe they will hurt me again. I don't know

But maybe, just maybe this time it will work out. If it doesn't there will be plenty of time for mourning and reflection. But for now there is a chance that this will be a brighter day. And I choose to enjoy the optimism instead of fear the pain.
