A perfect example of "mob mentality" in action.

I suspect two or three of these guys on the highway would have been respectful of other drivers' right of way.

Multiply that number by ten and all of the sudden 20 or 30 bikers think they own the road and woe-be-it for any SUV driver that doesn't yield to their whims.

The first biker was intentionally attempting to block the SUV so his buddies could do bike tricks on the public highways.

Bikers that want to do stunts need to rent a track.

Public roads are no place for that nonsense, for reasons that should be tragically obvious.

If it's the 1%er part, a1%er is a gangster biker. It comes from an incident back in the 40s where a bunch of bikers tore up a small town & the AMA told people not to worry because 99% of bikers are good people. The criminal element then adopted the term 1%er to identify themselves as "the ones who are bad people". Hells Angles, Outlaws, & the like.

ETA: I doubt the guys in the vid wear the 1% patch though.

So as long as they don't chase, beat up and cut a dude...what they did was cool Triad?

This situation could've been so much worse and thankfully the voyeuristic cameras these douchebags wear ended up being why their side of the story isn't one you'd feel sorry for.  What if we didn't have the video and you read this about some guy in a Range Rover running over a bunch of bikers using only the testimony of dozens of bikers and one family.

Nope. Just saying that any case they may have had, flow away when they confirmed the suv drivers assesment that he was in grave danger. If it were me driving the suvm I'd be quite pleased to learn the name and address if the attacker.

Any group of bikers that give themselves a nickname and substitute their S's for Z's should all die in a horrible interstate pile up.

Definitely not one percenters  One percenters ride Harley's or Choppers.  These were not the organized thugs that are in the outlaw motorcycle clubs, just regular run of the mill thugs.  :)

Yesterday, the New York Post reported that an off-duty undercover narcotics detective was among the group of motorcyclists that attacked a family as they drove their Range Rover up the West Side Highway last weekend. (He reportedly did not "[get] involved at the scene," though he also did not try to stop the assault.)

Now, ABC News and DNAinfo report that at least five other off-duty members of the NYPD participated in the ride and witnessed some part of the confrontation, which began when 33-year-old Alexian Lien bumped one of the bikers with his SUV and ended with Lien being dragged from the car, beaten, and slashed in front of his wife and 2-year-old daughter after a high-speed chase.

Now it looks like he indeed was part of the "window smashers" and is under arrest.

This type of incident demonstrates that as electronic surveillance proliferates in our society, it will have a dramatic impact on the public's behavior.

Will be interesting to see what happens to this undercover detective's career.

Will the union and the city whitewash his behavior or does he lose his job?
