Here you go Zod: exact number of cam scrambles for first downs

I would love to see a game, just one with Cam with the full control of our offense, no OC.

Or more simple a 100% no huddle offense.

Can't be. Shula is an excellent OC. Right?

Little from column A, little from column B.

It's somewhere in between.

Quarterbacks make or break OCs as well as head coaches. That is hardly news.  What team has a crappy quarterback statistically and yet put up big numbers on offense this year??

Its news when the QB makes the OC when everthing the OC plans breaks down and the the biggest plays of the game are improvised, having zero to do with the OC.

Given that both Cam and Shula said that they collaborate together and run the plays that Cam are most comfortable with and that Cam has a lot of say in the gameolanning your assumptions cant be correct. Secondly when a team runs almost 1000 plays a season even if 50;are improvised that leaves 95% scripted.

There are quarterbacks like Russell Wilson who improvise a lot more than Cam. I wonder if their OC gets the same undeserved criticism. They are 17th in total yards.

Yeah, those frantic scrambles for first downs after eluding 4 lineman and 2 linebackers.... completely planned.

And the other 995 plays run as they were called were completely improvised.

You aren't getting the point.

Your trying to make a point that isn't there. Shula gives Cam the freedom to change plays improvise or take off running. That is part of the plan. Unlike Chud who forced Cam to run the called play and gave him no flexibility to do his thing. Cam gives much of the credit for his success to Shula.

You will have plenty of time to keep banging the Shula sucks drum next year since Rivera and Gettlemen like the job he did. Maybe you will have better luck next year

The fact that Cam has the ability to stretch plays and get yards on scrambles is what makes him as good as he is. Shula recognizes that and embraces it. But Cam athletic exploits don't take away from Shula or make him a bad OC.

This reminds me of all the debates regarding Smith making Delhomme. Sure Smitty made circus catches but Jake knew he would so all he had to do was lob it up there and let Smitty do his thing. When an OC makes good use of their resources they are smart and deserve credit when they work because they surely get blame when they don't.

So what you're saying is that Shula calls long developing plays with a questionable OL so that Cam can make 5 people miss in the backfield and pick up some yards with his legs?

Brilliant.
