As long as he's been working hard while sidelined and will work hard to return I'm fine. He's under a coaching staff that made Nate Chandler a viable right guard as a DT turned OT.

Not all draft picks pan out.  If he can't get on the field next year he's probably not going to.  That said I think Kenjon Barner ends up getting a lot more playing time next year.

We have this guy and Amini and a young cheap RT

I don't see why people are tripping so hard over our O line. Gross has another year and we need another beast at LT and thats it. Unless we get some huge RT and take away our money for that.... but that seems extremely dumb considered our situation.

He has the right size and lower body to stand up against bull rush and with long arms he can engage blocker head on .....He was pretty nasty at run blocking in college and should translate to the NFL. With a proper off-season conditioning and OTA he should be ready to bulldoze lanes for the RBs.

Please God no!! 7 yards on 6 carries and looked worse than that, the guy is too small.

I think Kug is a gem. He's got great size and a whole off season to work on getting accustomed for NFL speed.

For those bashing Barner, Gettles specifically mentioned him in the press conference and went along the lines of saying that he was essentially a 2014 draft pick (paraphrasing). Methinks they have a plan for him...so get used to him being on the roster.

Kugzilla will be a beast, gettleman knows hog mollies and this guy is one, I think in a way it could be a blessing sitting out his first year, learning his mental reps and getting coached up by his coaches and team mates, learning is valuable and he's had time to do this, I expect him to be set and raring to go full speed next season he will be hungry to play after missing out this year.
