Mr. Scot

This year's Aaron Rodgers?

Not trolling. Said early on I don't really see it happening. Just asking what people thought.

(reaction was about what I expected)

You're still better than that lol

Bridgewater's agent responds to the story (PFT)

28th is a pretty far drop.  i dont see him getting past all those teams with aging qbs or slightly aging qbs with question marks.  could be insurance.  smokescreens in this situation seem perfect.

did you read that first pft comment?  zing!!

This is all well and good, but how well can he catch or block?

Patriots will take him 1000000000000000% if he falls there

this is what i'm thinking. brady is getting up there in years. smart thing would be to start grooming his replacement now.

when i think of an aaron rodgers/bret favre situation, i think of a team with a successful QB who has been there for over a decade and who the team wants to make sure can be replaced easily by a top prospect QB without missing a beat and who knows what they do. chances are that if bridgewatee were to fall, the pats might not have another chance to get a QB of that caliber without having a big implosion (which i'm sure they want to avoid).

Mr Scot, I dont expect dumb ideas like this from you since you're actually a knowledgeable poster. Entertaining the thought of us even thinking about taking Teddy is a waste of time

Not so much 'entertaining the thought' as putting it out there as a 'what if'.  I don't see any way Bridgewater falls that far.  But again, nobody really saw Rodgers falling as far as he did either, so who knows?

But as stated before, if he did fall to us, I don't see him being picked.  If we didn't already have a starting QB, I'd draft Bridgewater in a heartbeat.  But we do, and other (very immediate) needs.

You can most certainly take a flier on a 'what if / just in case' player when you don't have urgent needs to fill and it's generally a good thing for the team.

But that's definitely not our situation right now.  So...not this year

As far as Bridgewater though, I do think that where he lands will be one of this year's most interesting Draft Day stories.  Especially if he does start dropping farther than expected.

Seems like not that long ago Cam Newton was having shakey pre draft workouts.

I hope others believe that.  Ideally Tampa at 7 or Jacksonville giving up Justin Blackmon plus 39 to move to 28 to get him.  The reality is Cam=stud, TB=dud.  Cam=tank, TB=pretzel.

He won't fall.

Teams are now engaging in their yearly draft deception plan.
