#2816178 The Redskins Commercial the NFL does not want us to see

Posted by The_Mango55 on 10 June 2014 - 11:24 PM

The Washington name is offensive and the Cleveland logo is offensive. But those are the only Native American themed teams I think are in dire need of fixing. Also while I don't think it's super offensive I think it's a little odd to name your team after an entire race of people. The Braves is a pretty good name because it's specifically referring to the warriors of a certain culture, no different than naming a team the Knights, Vikings or Samurai.

Also since threads always seem to go this way, I'm not trying to claim that people don't have the right to be offended however much they want by whatever they want, but that doesn't mean people who are offended should always get their way.

#2795136 OLine, Cam holding the ball too long, or bad play calling?

Posted by The_Mango55 on 20 May 2014 - 11:31 PM

A little bit of everything.

As people have mentioned, O-line and WR contribute.

Also Cam holds the ball "too long" pretty often because many times when he holds on to the ball he makes borderline magical escapes for a first down that no QB has any right to make. But obviously he can't always make that escape and gets taken down.  IMO that's a good trade off.

#2720110 fug YOU PIZZA HUT! fug YOU!

Posted by The_Mango55 on 28 March 2014 - 05:05 PM

I know this sounds so white-trashy, but a few years ago, I LOVED wal-mart deli's hot wings. That sauce was just banging. But, then one time I got some that had been left under the lamp too long and I never wanted them again. They were dirt cheap for a pound too.

Wal-mart does have pretty good wings. They aren't wing-place good but they are better (and cheaper) than fast food wings.

But it's true you have to ask how long they hve been under the lamp. If they are there too long they get tough and gross. Their Jalapeno poppers are also pretty good.

#2720101 Desean Jackson released *update* Rivera interested *UPDATE X2* Rivera interes...

I'm sure we are interested in having Jackson play here.

I'm sure we are not interested in paying 8-10 million a year for him to play here.

Dude has ones in his hand in that pic.

You can't spend a million dollars in ones.

Guys, guys, it's a business.

And as you know, the best businesses are the ones where the employees are unhappy and hate the boss, the customers have no idea what the leadership is thinking, and the best and most tenured employees are fired for basically no reason.

#2698030 Dave Gettleman contract?

Posted by The_Mango55 on 15 March 2014 - 02:19 PM

GM and Coach contracts should be part of the salary cap.

That would give them more credibility when they talk about how it's just a business and/or ask players to take a pay cut.

#2677357 No Joke: The players apparently didn't like Gettleman

Posted by The_Mango55 on 06 March 2014 - 05:40 PM

While I'm fine with his strategy, posters have to accept what comes with it.

I don't want to see any more posters bitching about players being greedy. That's a double standard.

#2649131 Does Cam have an asking price?

Posted by The_Mango55 on 10 February 2014 - 03:46 PM

There are 32 teams in the NFL.

There are less than 32 humans in the world capable of playing high caliber NFL QB.

As long as this is the case, teams will "overpay" for QB's

#2648970 Michael Sam, draft prospect, admits he's gay

People who wish/think this shouldn't be a big story or important are misguided. It has to be a big deal today if it's going to be no big deal tomorrow.

It was a big deal when limburgh flew across the Atlantic, but now thousands of people do it every day.

I live near Boone.

Troy's 105 Diner is a better place for breakfast. You're just as likely to wait as you are at Cracker Barrel, but there's less old people and more hot college girls in yoga pants.

#2632238 I'm Gonna Say It.... I'm ENJOYING This Years Pro Bowl

Posted by The_Mango55 on 26 January 2014 - 09:16 PM

Yeah I said the same thing on another forum. Anything bad I may have said about the new pro-bowl format, I take it back.

It's actually an entertaining game now! SHOCKING!

I think I was fine with the changes but just covering the bases.

I just find it funny that that's the best endzone fade pass I've ever seen Cam make and it was at the pro-bowl haha.

#2628068 Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly on team Sanders

Posted by The_Mango55 on 22 January 2014 - 09:47 PM

BTW I like that Ron is on the opposite side.

Anyone sacks Cam, or throws illegal blocks against Hardy or Luke, they are coming out of the game immediately!
