Gettleman is the opposite of Hurney but not really in a good way,Hurney was too loyal to players, even when their production went south,Gettleman gets rid of the most productive players but doesn't replace them w/anybody just as talented or even being close to talented!
The biggest difference between last years team and this years team is Jordan Gross retiring. Not Steve Smith, who is clearly slowing down now in Baltimore, not Tedd Ginn, who has been a joke Arizona, not Mike Mitchell who has poo the bed in Pittsburgh. The biggest impact was the one Gettleman had no control over.
Wait...... we are really going to be upset that Stephen Hill isn't going to play for us?
Have any of you watched him when he was on the Jets? The dude is TERRIBLE. Can't catch, can't run routes. I mean the team that drafted him high and desperately needed him let him go and then no other team even wanted him.....
I understand you guys are upset but be realistic. We have a deep threat in Brown, what his Hill going to add but drops and running the wrong route leading to INTs?
You must understand that 85% of the people on this site have no clue what they are talking about, and less of a clue about what they are watching on Sundays.
They see Namey McFirstround get cut from another team because he is poo, and automatically put him up on a pedestal.
It's particularly bad when they have all found a common enemy that becomes the scapegoat for every defect this shitty team has.
That's ridiculous. Dude has averaged over 4 YPC every season until this year. Four of those seasons were over 5 YPC. And then there are the big plays he has made on screen passes. And the dude is one of the least fumbling RB's in the history of the NFL.
He has had a terrific career. I just hate that the team around him has been so mediocre much of the time.
I respect how little Deangelo Williams has fumbled during his career. For a RB, that can't be understated. But in 9 years he's topped 850 yards in a season only twice, and averages less than 60 yards per game. That's not exactly lighting the world on fire.
That loss is on Riveria and Shula. Anybody that blames Gano, I will vehemntly disagree with you. Don't make him the scapegoat for Riveria and Shula's poor play calling and management. When you have the offensive momentum, you don't shut that down when there is plenty of time to score a TD, or at least get more yardage for a much easier FG!
The kicker missed a potential game winning field goal, so you can disagree with me all you want, but he lost the game at that point.
Have they been cut or traded the way he has though?
It was personal, so it's going to stay personal to Steve for a while. The question is why are you guys bitter. Its not like he said fug the fans. This falls on Dave and Ron. And let's be clear if you consider what Dave & Ron did as including you, well I guess you should be bitter
Or maybe its because a lot thought he wouldn't have the year he's had, the year Ravens has had and many thought we're better off with Dave 3rd stringers
I think fans sometimes have a fairy tale view of a player staying on the same team their whole career, winning a Super Bowl, and retiring on top.
I don't see how what happened with Steve was different than any other player that gets cut, and I've seen nothing outside of fan speculation that it was somehow personal.
