#2677644 Jason Verrett Scheduled to Have Private Workout With Panthers Friday

Posted by Kuech the Sneak on 06 March 2014 - 09:37 PM

The one thing I go back to his Hardy.

If we plan on trading him, then CB play will, in my opinion, all of a sudden be even more important as we will not be getting the pressure we did last year on opposing QB's, thus putting more of a burden on the secondary.

The fact the we are publicizing this might also be a smokescreen to try to get someone to nab him and push other players down.

The Oscars were handed out last weekend, but the the real acting is just beginning in 32 cities around the country

We're not publicizing it, verrett told a reporter who was interviewing him

Don't know if fleming will be there that late, but I would absolutely love it. He's one of my favorite players in the draft, this would be a dream offseason

1.Jason Verrett CB
2.Davante Adams WR
3.Cyrus Kouandjio OT
4.Bruce Ellington WR
5.Aaron Lynch DE(he has hurst going a couple picks after which I would prefer)

This would be an amazing draft, never thought about a CB in the first. Ron and Dave have talked about the secondary being a strong position in the draft and how it needs to be addressed so it makes sense

We had a thread going on during the senior bowl with meetings, on a side note, Gil Brandt tweeted that the Panthers met with OT Billy Turner

#2674072 Report: Eugene Monroe option for Panthers

Can we afford him?

I doubt they'd be looking at him if they thought they couldn't afford him

If it comes from Aaron Wilson, you can bank on it.

Very true, one of the few guys you can take seriously when he reports something like this

Better run blocker and athlete. You're judging a guy that's a physical freak that came from a small college in his rookie year. Silatolu was going to have a hell of year last year until he got hurt. You don't remember the well documented epic battles he had with Star in training camp? This will be his 3rd year in an NFL system. Wharton might have more veteran tricks....but the only reason Wharton was brought back was because of Amini's injury.

You might be right.....the coaching staff seems to disagree with you though.

Amini was bad his rookie year but steadily improved to a good player at the end of the year. And he was on pace to have a great year this year, really unfortunate injury, I don't know what the other poster is talking about

#2667604 We MIGHT* be tagging Hardy *Zod is in denial

He's saying he's heard from sources that they're preparing to use the tag, so it's right inbetween speculation and official

He sounded like he was leaning towards retirement himself too

try to snag hurst and henderson in rounds 3 and 4 and use rounds 1 and 2 to get WR + CB or TE.

I like that idea especially if gross comes back, two young guys can learn alot from him. Go WR/DB or TE/DB in the first two rounds
