Don't we have three night games this year? What are we going to do with a tackle that's scared of the dark?

I'd be surprised if we signed a guard. With Kugbila and Silatolu coming back, and Wharton and Chandler still possible players, I think Gettleman is more likely to focus on finding a tackle. That's a lot of competition to add another "just a guy" type player to.

Kasay wasn't consistent for the 15 or so years he was a panther?

No, he wasn't. There were four seasons where his field goal percentage went up or down by 10% from the previous year. Almost five--2008 to 2009 barely missed the cut. Kasay had some great years, but he still dealt with the variance that every other kicker does.

Again, I said they could be smaller but they are not the reason we are in cap issues at this point.  And we can keep beating that dead horse for the next several years as well.  It happened.  Does anyone talk about how little we spend on quarterbacks, defensive tackles, the whole secondary, etc compared to other teams?  That is a massive savings right now.

I feel like the misallocation of 6-8 million dollars is at least part of the reason that we have cap issues.

Look, I know it happened. I'm just not trying to downplay what happened. That's really the only reason that I responded--those contracts are pretty brutal.

None of those things are related to the contracts that our running backs have. None.

most fans, including you, under value a lot of, if not all bigger contracts in the NFL.

I'm use to it by now.

I'm not saying that the team had to pay two veteran playmakers at running back, but I certainly understand the value of them doing so.

I'd be ecstatic if we had signed two veteran playmakers at running back. The problem is that we signed one average running back in Williams, and another running back that can't get healthy in Stewart. If it were Double Trouble all over again and they lived up to their contracts, we'd be unstoppable. But this situation is a perfect example of why teams aren't giving big contracts to running backs anymore.
