#2609863 Refs in todays Game

Posted by USCGuardsman on 12 January 2014 - 05:10 PM

I was wondering about that VD TD...first 12 men in the huddle and then when he caught that his foot was down but then bobbled the ball and switched hands and then had that foot land right on the line....killer killer.....we did not play well the second half but I believe when your coaching staff has to tell you to make adjustments due to the horrible calling based on physical play that changes your gameplan and mentality as a player..niners won but the better team did not win today...KEEP POUNDING!!!

It also looked like he went out of bounds before even making the catch, which should have been a penalty. Another "no call"

#2609753 Will that crew be downgraded?

National Fraud League. Don't forget this is a business! The refs did their job, plain and simple and it was to make sure the big money moves on.

#2575757 Not Allowed on the Bandwagon

Posted by USCGuardsman on 30 December 2013 - 02:38 PM

What is it with the them vs us mentality? I have been a fan since the team was announced as a franchise, but that makes me no more special then someone who has become a fan by winning ways or following a favorite player. Bandwagon is actually a good thing, it typically builds a larger permanent fan base, and more importantly it is caused by fugging winning!

Is someone's status measured by the amount of posts that one makes on an Internet forum? Fans from our Super Bowl year, you are bandwagon fans, but I love ya for it!! Cause we have something in common, we love this team. As does the newest fan....

#2573159 Playoff Tickets

Posted by USCGuardsman on 29 December 2013 - 06:17 PM

So.....I really want to go to the first Playoff game in 2 weeks.....but, I will not allow myself to jinx the club. See, I have made it to two games in the last 3 season. First we got schooled by Tennessee, second was this season vs Seattle. Undefeated at home this season when I stay at home. I will continue my sacrifice until next season when the team can afford a potential loss due to my greed of wanting to "belong". I will conduct some sort of voodoo ritual in the offseason to cleans my hex. Keep Pounding!

#2566784 I'm still baffled by this..........

Cam is at his best when he gets out of his own head and just plays ball. I suspect that last drive took away the luxury of the long drawn out Shula play calling and clock eating offense. Cam didn't have time to overthink his play.

Sent from the Carolina Huddle App

Additionally, this team is very successful in two minute drills. I would love, love, love to see a bit more no huddle and force defenses to make mistakes trying to cover it.

Sure, long sustained drives are still a must, but sometimes you need a change up. Don't become predictable.....never

#1965211 The read option

Posted by USCGuardsman on 27 October 2012 - 07:24 AM

Would coaches continually run a scheme which puts their own jobs on the line? Why?

Stubborn, hoping for a break through that makes them look like a genius. No one wants to admit when they are wrong, so it took a job being lost to force their hand. Had Hurney not been fired, you would see the read option for the rest of the year.

#1923464 Falcons safety Meows repeatedly in ESPN interview...

Posted by USCGuardsman on 28 September 2012 - 02:41 PM

I love Super Troopers, so I thought this was funny and ballsy. I was not sure I was hearing it from the stupid bell, but i knew if he said it just before hanging up, then it was a legit meowing.

Still hope ATL loses

Oh and this board really needs to lighten up...holy fug.

#1579268 Minor milestones too look for this Saturday

Posted by USCGuardsman on 23 December 2011 - 01:03 PM

Other them Cam newton passing peyton mannings rookie record for passing yards some other other milestones could happen this saturday

Steve smith needs 5 recs to pass Mushin Muhammad on the panthers all time receptions list

Cam newton needs 79 passing yards to pass QB Chris weinke on the panthers all-time passing yards list putting him at 4th on the list.

Charles Johnson needs 1 sack to be the first panther with back to back 10 sack seasons since Julius peppers last did it in 2008-2009

Jonathan Stewart needs 3 yards to pass deshaun foster on the panthers all-time rushing list making him second behind deangelo williams.

*Armanti edwards passed Iheanyi Uwaezuoke on the panthers alltime punt returns yardage list last sunday putting him the panthers all-time top 10 for punt returners.

Another small one that you could include on this list is Cam is only 11 Completions away from topping Weinke for 3rd place in Completions by a rookie, in the NFL. Weinke is currently 3rd with 293, following Manning at 326 and Bradford at 354.

I hear ya man, I finally made it to my first game this year and drove up from Mobile, AL. The experience was awesome, but unfortunately it was the Titans game and I still have yet to see a Carolina TD in person :( . The good thing is, I move to Charleston SC this summer and will be able to make it more often. Have fun!

#1508688 Finally have tickets in hand! Any advice from regulars?

Posted by USCGuardsman on 08 November 2011 - 07:53 AM

Hello all, I finally found myself in a position to get some tickets to my first game and have them in hand :D. I am coming up for the CAR vs TN game this sunday all the way from Alabama and looking for the full experience. Anyone have any advice on things to do the day of/before/or after? Any opportunities for autographs? Ins and outs on tailgating, parking or shopping at the stadium? I'm also active duty and this being Veterans weekend, does the stadium have anything planned? Any help or advice for the full experience would be awesome and most heartedly appreciated. I'm so stoked! Will be in section 343, which looks like a really good view point. Thanks in advance!

But you do need to know the playbook to know which man that is. It is still an important factor and audibles do get called.

#1368156 History not on Newtons side.

Posted by USCGuardsman on 03 September 2011 - 09:21 AM

Well, history in the short term doesn't look that great, but take a look at the list of first round picks for the panthers since existance. Looking at it this way, history looks much more to his advantage.

1995 Kerry Collins (did great at first, had a pro-bowl in 96' then the DUI screwed us)
1995 Tyrone Poole (All Rookie team selection, All Madden Team)
1995 Blake Brockermeyer (All Rookie Team selection)
1996 Tim Biakabutuka
1997 I don't care to say this tool's name, but he was also All Team Rookie Selection
1998 Jason Peter (College and Pro Football Newsweekly All-Rookie Team)
1999 No Pick
2000 Rashard Anderson
2001 Dan Morgan (Made the Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie Team, and was later selected to play in the Pro Bowl in 2004 and 2005)
2002 Julius Peppers (Won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, made several All-Rookie teams, and has been selected to the Pro Bowl in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009.)
2003 Jordon Gross (Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie Team selection, Sports Illustrated All-Pro team[7], and 2009 and 2011 Pro Bowl selection.)
2004 Chris Gamble (Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie Team selection.)
2005 Thomas Davis
2006 DeAngelo Williams
2007 Jon Beason (Pro Football Weekly/PFWA All-Rookie Team)
2008 Jon Stewart
2008 Jeff Otah
2009 No Pick
2010 No Pick
2011 Cam Newton

So, though we had 2 really BIG bust in the 90's all in all we have been extremely successfull with our first rounders. Or atleast they have been key components to our team and when/if they get injured, their absence is felt.
