#3035469 Godfrey Released

Posted by Growl on Today, 02:33 PM

Nothing against the guy, but I have never seen a player look as bad as Godfrey has the past two weeks.

Voth posted a statistic earlier that said teams were 10/11 going at him the last two weeks. That's atrocious, and it doesnt even include the missed tackles, penalties when he was beat, etc etc.

Teams knew they could go at him.

It'll be Perry Fewell.

followed by a Brandon Beane promotion to general manager.

on the flip side, seattle has some of the most physical practices in the league...been under investigation and fined for breaking the rules...

they seem to suck too.

Seattle just won this thing called a Super Bowl and got a ring for it and everything.

We have now heard you, and others from time to time state that training camp/practices are much looser and more relaxed than youve seen in years passed. I believe you said this one especially was.

Now we see a team that is soft, doesnt finish blocks, misses tackles, blows assignments with seemingly increasing frequency. Coupled with this, the only padded practice day we have is the day we "rest" like half the roster.

I think there's a correlation. Do you?

Rivera: This defense should be good enough.

Yeah Ron. Youre right. It should. But it isnt, and you're to blame.

Who cares if Norman got enough practice reps? Your practices are nothing but heated cuddling sessions anyways. This guy is asleep at the wheel, man. If this guy thinks Godfrey has what it takes to even be on the field, much less starting, then his transitions are too dark.

#3029445 Is this the least Talented Defensive Unit in the NFL?

Posted by Growl on 19 October 2014 - 02:14 PM

Not even close.

Two good LBs, a few good defensive linemen (some of which are on the bench so Ron can play his faves)

This team's defensive issue goes way beyond a talent level

While by no means do I think Ron is an elite level coach. This has to do more with being cap strapped and being able to afford 0 talent because of Hurney.

We may not win a playoff game for another 5 years.

We have to let those god awful RB contracts clear up, then we have to develop draft picks, and then we might actually be able to afford some decent talent on the Oline and the secondary.........and RB for that matter.

Marty Hurney hasn't been here for some time now. It's time to stop blaming him. For some reason we are the only team in the league that has to scrape the absolute bottom of the barrel in spite of the fact that most teams in the league are facing some kind of cap dilemma

Someone is in denial.

Someone is a moron who has never strapped a helmet on in their life (it's you)

Anyone who thinks this is just "bad personnel" is kidding themselves. There have been many poor defensesthroughout the annals of league history. That doesn't mean they go out every week and get obliterated like this. Especially not with a handful of talented players like we have.

It is coaching. Something is going wrong on the practice field or in the film room and Ron has been too stupid or too stubborn to identify/fix it.

I'm so glad our best player is sitting on the bench so we can cover for Roger Goodell

Addison is only good for pass rushing. Horton's better against the run so he starts him for the same reason he starts Cole. Trying to keep the other team from developing the run..

This is nice in theory but it lacks the oh so important ingredient of being truthful.

Horton has been all encompassingly terrible.

And lol at the notion anyways of preferring someone who stops the run vs stopping the pass in the hear 2014

Dickson. Another quality Gettleman signing. Guy has as many penalties as catches.

It shouldn't take all pros all over the field for your team to look like they understand what is happening on an NFL football field

I'm all in on this thread. Rivera is a joke.

His team is unprepared, soft, and I am so tired of watching his little "hard-workers" continue to flounder and drown in the face of actual talent.

1 winning season in 4 is unacceptable.

Fire him.

Rivera needs to take some blame as well. This is one of the most poorly coaches teams I have ever seen.
