#2992610 Rivera on Hardy

Dont talk about it.

Less it's talked about, less likely goons like Costas are to care.

I like Benjamin too much to have Steve ruin another young player's career.

#2992297 Steve Smith Is ON WFNZ Having A Confessional, Won't Let the Story End

Posted by Growl on Today, 01:03 PM

I'm glad he called in too, because he went right ahead and validated every criticism of him and made the decision we made look even better.

Has anyone ever heard of any other professional athlete doing something like this? Do you think Smith sits there all day on his IHeartRadio app trying to hear the smallest sliver of news of what WFNZ might say about him? Are there pictures of us in his closet he throws darts at before apologizing and begging us to take him back?

Suck it up Steve. Could anyone envision Manning calling into Indianapolis radio and throwing this kind of fit?

Why would you even do this after Sunday? You won the game, you played great. You had all the bragging rights in the world.

Now you're back at square one and everybody just thinks you're being pouty. All the face you saved Sunday is now lost again as you've demonstrated it's still eating at you. You've given all the "power" right back to Gettleman by showing what a number his decision did on you.

What are the odds we use a first round pick on a DE next year?

#2984498 Shula lead Panthers now 0-6 when opposing team scores more than 20 points

Posted by Growl on 28 September 2014 - 03:12 PM

This team could be competent offensively if it had 1 of 2 things

1) an OC that understood his team's strengths and weaknesses and knew how to play around them accordingly

2) a strong OL that compensated for the dated, predictable failings of it's OC

literally if we had just one of those we'd be a pretty good offense. but we have both. coming into the season, we knew we had both-and the complaceny from management about it is where they receive their portion of the blame.

#2984415 If we fire Shula, who takes over?

at this point id be happier with an ask the audience feature in which each fan sends in a vote prior to each play, but yeah Ramsdell seems like the obvious candidate.

#2984258 Chicago got blown out today

Rivera has been consistently adamant about not letting his team get amped up.

No way he allows emotion to play any part of this.

This franchises refusal to seize greatness is disgusting.

How does a team get blown out two weeks in a row? You have to have absolutely zero pride.

They've given up.

#2983611 Would Newton be in the right to refuse to play?

Posted by Growl on 28 September 2014 - 02:20 PM

As long as Byron Bell continues to start?

Obviously he wouldn't, but it makes me wonder. We routinely hear every offseason off players riding off into the sunset in the midst of their prime because they have to think of their future. Our very own Jordan Gross did it this past year. It makes me wonder if a player would be in the right do such a thing given what Cam is facing this season. The front office failed him horribly, and I don't know that I have ever seen a player as outmatched by the opposition as Byron Bell is on a weekly basis.

Again, I don't think that he would-but I've reached a point where I feel sorry for him as a man and can't help but wonder if he'd be in the right to look out for his long term health. Byron Bell had no business being appointed the guy, and it was apparent to everyone but the front office who were enamored with Bell's get rowdy chants and aw shucks blue collar attitude-but those things don't win football games.

So my only question is, do you feel he'd be justified?

#2983476 Dave Gettleman?

Posted by Growl on 28 September 2014 - 02:11 PM

Gettleman absolutely deserves heat. Anybody clinging to the idea that he doesn't have a hand in this is delusional.
