#2763605 Charles Godfrey Takes Large PAYCUT

Posted by Beast_3000 on 06 May 2014 - 02:33 PM

Trying to get Kraken signed? or are we saving this for Cam/Luke?

Thoughts?

Signing Kraken long term gives us more cap room. It doesn't hurt it. The cap # for a long term contract would drop from 13.7 million for 2014 to a more respectable figure. It depends on the signing bonus and years.

#2762575 Voth talks with Jonathan Stewart

Posted by Beast_3000 on 05 May 2014 - 08:34 PM

When healthy he's a beast, no doubt Stewie causes opposing defenses lots of trouble him and DWill together causes ...

Double Trouble.

I am optimistic he will be back in top form this season. If that is the case he should take D-Will's starting spot and give the league pure hell this year.

I know it is a little wishful but he is talented enough to do it.

#2760121 [Updated] Greg Cosell talks this years draft prospect. Hours of footage.

Posted by Beast_3000 on 03 May 2014 - 06:00 AM

Ummmmm our local writers at the Panthers website and at the Observer have a long ways to go in terms of quality of work and research if the Eagles are putting out stuff like this.

Hate to be a complainer, but the research, quality and length of these videos make Person and company look like poo.

#2758657 Panthers director of college scouting Don Gregory believes "capable"...

Posted by Beast_3000 on 01 May 2014 - 09:27 PM

I just don't see Moses as being a lot better than the likes of Richardson from Tenessee and Richardson can probably be taken mid 3rd round or so.

I would like to trade back personally so we don't have to reach on a OT and we can get 4 quality picks in the first 3 rounds.

We can get a OT, a CB and probably 2 quality receivers by the end of round 3.

I think a team like Washington would bite on our 28th pick to avoid losing their guy at the top of the second round.

#2735415 We signed DeCoud!

Posted by Beast_3000 on 10 April 2014 - 08:53 PM

@josephperson: DeCoud will give #Panthers depth at safety behind Charles Godfrey, who is coming off Achilles surgery and remains restructuring candidate.

Guy doesn't have a clue

So true he isn't getting paid that kind of salary from Gettleman to sit the bench. Plus he went to Cal!!! HELL we maybe looking at one of our defensive team captains....lol....

You know Rivera' has a fascination with players from his alma mater

In all seriousness Decoud is a good signing. Panthers fly to the ball. His tackling issues will not be as big a problem on our defense.

#2732043 "Scootch over, first round WRs"---Allen Robinson needs room

Posted by Beast_3000 on 08 April 2014 - 05:28 PM

Outside of Watkins and Evans, all of the WRs scare me a little. But, nice to see guys like Robinson improving their stock and maybe causing OTs or fellow WRs to drop in the 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd round. I would love to go with 2 WRs in the first 3 rounds.

I think the receivers look better this year than in years past. Robinson, Cooks and Beckham seem like the real deal too.

I would draft all three above Tavon Austin

#2718611 The double dip

Posted by Beast_3000 on 27 March 2014 - 04:14 PM

Cyrus is not a top 15 pick. Those combine number were below average at best. I think he was out of shape because he was resting his knee. If that isn't the case then my opinion sours on him even more because he isn't serious about getting himself in tip top shape for the draft.

#2718134 Ron Rivera: Panthers may not need number 1 WR in 2014

Posted by Beast_3000 on 27 March 2014 - 09:22 AM

My problem with his response is he is trying to match what he did last year. Who does that ? You have to set goals of improving. If you do not you regress. The South has improved this year. Doing what we did last year will not work.

Very upset with that lame approach and that lame response.

#2716228 South Carolina's WR Brue Ellington?

Posted by Beast_3000 on 25 March 2014 - 08:23 PM

If the Huddle were the Panthers' GM, every draft pick would be from UNC, South Carolina or Appalachian State.

Dream come true... Clowney; Robert Quinn; Ebron ; Johnathon Cooper ; Alshon Jeffrey....

Maaaaaaaaan sign me up!!!!

I could name about 10 more quality players but you get my point. I'm down!!!! Lol

#2711792 OL Options in the Draft - a Semi-In-Depth Look

Posted by Beast_3000 on 22 March 2014 - 04:41 AM

If I had to guess where the OT/OG's in this draft get drafted:

1st Round
OT- Greg Robinson- Top 5 (Gone)
OT- Jake Matthews- Top 10 (Gone)
OT- Taylor Lewan- Top 10- Mid 1st (Gone)
OT/OG- Zack Martin- Mid 1st (Gone)
OG- Xavier Su'a Filo- Late 1st (Not a big enough need)
OT- Morgan Moses- Late 1st- Early 2nd (Maybe, would prefer a WR or S)

2nd Round
OT- Cyrus Kouandjio- Early 2nd (Maybe as long as the knee checks out, more upside than Moses imo)
OG- David Yankey- Early 2nd (Not a big enough need)
OT- Billy Turner- Mid 2nd (Hope he doesn't rise this high, would love to take him with our 2nd especially because I consider him a potential franchise LT)
OG- Gabe Jackson- Mid to late 2nd (Wouldn't mind taking him in the 2nd, my favorite OG in the draft, more of a RG)
OT/OG- Brandon Thomas- Late 2nd (Like Thomas as well, flexible enough to play LT or OG)

3rd Round
OT/OG- Joel Bitano- Late 2nd to Early 3rd (I like Bitano better as a OG wouldn't mind him)
OT- Jawann James- Late 2nd to Early 3rd (Projects only as a RT)
OT- Seantreal Henderson- Early 3rd (Highly overdrafted)
OT- Jack Mewhort- Mid 3rd (Not very athletic, meh pick but would be a steal in the 3rd)
OG- Dakota Dozier- Mid 3rd (I think he'll be a solid LG)
OT- Antonio Richardson- Mid to late 3rd (Nonathletic and has injury concerns, would grab if desperate in the 3rd)
OT- James Hurst- Mid to late 3rd (Wildcard, could go anywhere from the 2nd to the 5th. More of a LT)
OG- Cyril Richardson- Late 3rd (Wouldn't mind in the 3rd)
OT- Cameron Fleming- Late 3rd to early 4th (Solid RT in the 3rd)

Sleeper pick- Kadeem Edwards OG/ Tennessee State (5th round)

Hey how do you feel about us going wide receiver in round 1 and offensive line in Round 2 and 3 ? For some reason I feel that would give us the best the best opportunity to be explosive on the offensive side of the ball.

Just curious because it looks as though you have dug deep into the line prospects.

#2704259 Better Know a Prospect - Jared Abbrederis

Posted by Beast_3000 on 18 March 2014 - 08:47 AM

If we pick a tackle and receiver in round 1 and 2 I wouldn't be mad if we took him in round 3. He is underrated and his speed and athleticism is too.

Scouts get blinded by color when judging the legitimacy of a prospect.

We picked Cam and we got Luke because of this silly biased approach to the legitimacy of a prospect.

I think Jared is underrated because of the same biased scouting approach. I think he will be a very high end 2 when it is all said and done. That is definitely worth a 3rd round pick.

#2704195 Want Gettleman out?

Posted by Beast_3000 on 18 March 2014 - 07:58 AM

Panthers fans are not made fun of for being cocky. I can guarantee you that. We're made fun of because we're bad fans. Because we allow EVERY team to walk into BoA and control our stadium. Because we aren't intelligent football fans. Because we aren't able to see the big picture. Because we all keep saying "Cam Newton is going to have to throw the ball to himself next year". And definitely because we don't understand a formula to get to "sustained success".

We made some steps forward this year. We controlled the New Orleans game in the rain. Ask Drew Brees if he could hear himself think in that game. I couldn't hear myself yelling so I know it was loud.

#2700848 Is Asante Samuel still out there?

Posted by Beast_3000 on 16 March 2014 - 02:31 PM

Ummm.....Asante Samuel would be the last corner we would sign. Our defense requires sound tackling. That's a trait Asante does not possess ?
