#2844451 Coach Rivera goes Bowling

Posted by Beast_3000 on 09 July 2014 - 08:57 PM

A couple of things contribute to that. The left side of the lane is used less and if oiled properly at the beginning of the day will hold up better so it is more consistent and slides better. Secondly if the balls are stock ones from the bowling alley they are drilled in the middle and not offset or weighted. To get spin you have to use wrist action. But if the ball is his own and customized it will often be weighted and offset specifically so it will spin naturally. Some folks even have a different ball if they want to throw flatter and with less spin like when they are making spares.

You know the game.... And no I am not being sarcastic.

#2839715 Cam ranked smack dab in the middle of QBs according to some league insiders

Posted by Beast_3000 on 03 July 2014 - 07:31 PM

Im sorry, I have this weird thing where I use real life stats and logic when forming an opinion. Strange right? But we can all go back to 'magical fairy-tale pretend time' now, where we claim every QB not named Cam Newton is either "terrible" or "overrated".

Ok.... With all their playoff games:

Cam: 1 INT every 30 passes
Luck: 1 INT every 38 passes

Any more math you want me to do for you to help disprove your own point?

Again, if you 14 year old girls took emotion out of it, and decided to research actual facts before you spoke, you would come of much more intelligent and may even be right on occasion

I simply asked you to include the playoffs in your justification rant. I am not sure why you felt attacked. Based on your response you are the poster full of sensitive emotions bashing others. You don't know my stance on Luck or Cam. So get the heck out of here with those little sexist teenage insults.

I think Luck is an outstanding quarterback that has an edge on Cam based on his experience in a pro set, but his years experience is his primary advantage.
My problem with Luck is simple. What has Luck won so far? He is praised by every analyst that has a mic, but what has he won? Luck couldn't even win his own college conference, while Cam led his team to an SEC title and a national championship. O yeah CAM also won the Heisman ahead of Luck when Luck was the preseason favorite. Now they are both in the NFL and neither has done anything to morph the other.

Don't get me wrong I don't hate Luck. He just isn't going to beat out Cam in records that matter.

I believe 15 years from now Cam will have more Super Bowl rings than Luck because Cam has "it".

#2828293 2014 Cam's Offense

Posted by Beast_3000 on 23 June 2014 - 07:47 PM

I think I am more than excited to see what the new Sr. offensive quality consultant/coach can bring to the passing game. I apologize I can't remember his name and i am being lazy by not looking it up. Many huddlers wanted him as our offensive coordinator instead of Shula. I am hopeful he can restore some of the down field passes we seemed to lose last season.

Before anyone mentions it I know Ginn dropped a few long ones but their are some looks that can be re-added that will be beneficial.

#2814351 Chris Scott Conditioning

I hope Kugibila is healthy. If so that should be the end of his stint with us. The one thing that coaches should not have to teach or coach up is " a person's will". Everything I have read say Kug's wants to play. He just had injuries that prevented his from doing so.

#2810358 Steve Smith was going to retire after the 2014 season

Yeah Steve will get his self laid out by TD if he starts all that trash talk.

#2809105 How do some teams exploit the cap?/

Posted by Beast_3000 on 04 June 2014 - 04:13 PM

I guess Jones doesnt remember a few years back when he was signing everyone willy nilly, which ultimately put them where they are now. Saints and Niners will be struggling in T-minus two years from now like we have been the past two.

Yep. I think the key is signing a few players to contracts that we can cut without large repercussions.
D Will and Stewart's contracts are examples of what NOT to do. While Desean Jackson contract with Philly was a good example of what to do.

#2809063 OTA Update

Posted by Beast_3000 on 04 June 2014 - 03:56 PM

Interesting to hear Melvin White on the CB blitz. I'm excited to watch his progress with a year under his belt, Gman may have discovered a gem with this one.

Yeah the one thing he did last year that he has not wavered, on was his tackling ability. He tackles as good as Captain use too. Hopefully his play recognition and coverage will continue to improve.

#2809008 Kaepernick gets mega-deal

Posted by Beast_3000 on 04 June 2014 - 03:25 PM

Guys, Cam isn't going to get anywhere near that. Kaep is on a stacked team but he still was part of 2 NFC title games and a SB. That gave him considerable negotation leverage.

Umm yes he will. If he doesn't he will walk and someone else will pay him that in a few years. No one rates Kapernick above Cam. Even in our playoff game last year they rated Cam as one of our few advantages. Even Harbaugh knows Cam is the more advanced quarterback and passer.

#2804455 Nice thought from Trai Turner

Posted by Beast_3000 on 30 May 2014 - 02:19 PM

I know this is a Turner thread but I think we can be successful if Cam gets a little bit more comfortable throwing on the run. I think the pocket on the inside will hold with Turner, Kalil and Amini. Cam will have to improvise against teams with strong defensive end/ rushing linebacker play.

I know that isn't traditional quarterback play but Cam is capable of punishing teams with so much more. He may have to run more this season until the line builds some chemistry. I just hope they don't hurt our quarterback with this patchwork line, but I think Cam will adapt and overcome as most champions do.

#2804384 Nice thought from Trai Turner

Sounds good. Maybe he will pass that onto the other young guys.

I hope this guy is the steal of the draft. He looks like a smart and powerful man. Amini and him at Guards would be an young interesting line up.

I hope Amini can get his strength, weight and power back in time for mid training camp at the least. He would make me feel comfortable knowing we at least have two solid lineman with experience. Oddly enough I think Turner will be a bright spot and day 1 starter for us this season.

That is probably what we all project and think though. I hope it isn't to big for the 20 year old.

#2801087 Wharton...Chandler will do great things

Posted by Beast_3000 on 27 May 2014 - 12:22 PM

Considering the state of our OL, I find it hard to believe we haven't at least attempted to sign him yet.

I agree wholeheartedly that we should have reached out to him. I just don't think we have. Last year Gettleman said he wanted to see what we have on the roster. He doesn't seem to panic. I assume because he has been around since Moses parted the Red sea. I don't think we have to worry about Wharton signing with anyone else. He has a luxury of being a veteran that has made millions to retire. We have the luxury of being the only team he has legitimately played for. He got hurt and cut in Cincinnati so there is no relationship. If Gettleman needs an emergency tackle I believe we should be able to sign him.

#2797595 Benwikere was a "victim" of the WR numbers game (Person's latest)

Posted by Beast_3000 on 22 May 2014 - 07:41 PM

Dude made a highlight reel play while going against Bersin.. slipped his hand underneath and popped the ball up in the air, then caught it and ran. Looks like DG might have found another "diamond in the rough".

That's pretty cool. Just curious were you able to see this at the rookie/undrafted camp or is there a video I can watch?

Ummm... Is it me or do they look like the misfits from that movie The Replacements starring Keanu Reeves.
