Put me in the group of people that arent going to get too high off of this win, but I definetely see the potential of this team when they play smart football. We have a very good team folks, but they always seem to beat themselves. The Giants and Vikings both are horrible, but we beat them badly like good teams do.
Its just a matter of getting consistent. If we become consistent, we will be one of the best teams in the league.

I liked what we did yesterday. Execution let us down. Newton had one bad pass to Olsen that could have been a big gain. Olsen dropped another that could have been a big gain. Then of course the fumble by Williams and punt where the ball hit Thomas and they recovered.
All in all, I believe our offense will open up, play faster, etc...but yesterday we had the perfect game plan. Our defense is legit folks, and if DeAngelo doesnt fumble that ball, that Seahawks D was done for and we probably win that game and its different story today.
I just hope the team keeps the confidence. This could be a special year. Just gotta learn how to make the plays when it matters.
Im a Tar Heel fan and I understand people dont like the color light blue, but people need to grow up.
If the Hornets were duke blue, or wake black/gold, or State red - I wouldnt care. Its just a color, and quite frankly, I have a ton of ABC fans and they pick at me saying UNC light blue is a girl color, but at the end of the day, they all admit thats what one of the things the state of NC is known for - CAROLINA blue.
How are Cousins and Monroe not in the conversation? If you save up all the money from this year and all the money from this season you can sign any one of these players: Paul Pierce, Luol Deng, Dirk Nowitzki, Greg Monroe, Paul George, Danny Granger, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Zach Randolph, Chris Bosh, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Larry Sanders, Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire, DeMarcus Cousins, Tim Duncan, Rudy Gay, John Wall...
Cousins and Monroe are RFA. Highly likely they stick with their current team.
We are lucky a player like Al Jefferson is interested in playing in Charlotte. I dont think some realize how sad this organization is looked upon around the league. I look at that list and I say Danny Granger, Larry Sanders, or Rudy Gay would be the most likely guys to be interested in playing here.
Saying that, we still would have the money to sign a Rudy Gay next year. Our FO seems to be high on him.
Kemba - MKG - Gay - Zeller - Jefferson <---Thats a helluva lineup
Build up a bench and Charlotte is not only on the map, but one of the top teams in the East.
I'm not going to buy into the "we shouldn't get Al Jefferson because he makes us too much better" camp.
Let's say he does bump us into that 35 win range. We still may have three first round picks next season to try and move up in the draft. We also have Gordon's 12 million going off the books and we still have an amnesty we could use for even more cap space.
Point being, there is a chance next year's draft is loaded but a lot of those guys we think will be so great are really unknowns at this point. Get back to me after I see them.play some college ball. But even if they are what we think they are we can possibly have enough assets to trade up to get one of these guys, or we will have cap room to get a proven high quality player or players to follow in around these guys.
If we have a chance to sign a good player we need to do it.
You are getting it. Everyone thinks we will build some super team like the Heat. Its not going to happen.
Our inside game is going to be lethal, and if we get a go-to-guy on the wing not this coming season but the one after, we are going to have a very very good team.
I cant believe some of these posts. I understand everyone has a right to an opinion, but who cares if jefferson is bad at defense? How much longer are we going to settle for mcroberts and haywoods of the world?
Jefferson is an all star talent. People in Memphis said Randolph was a waste of money bc hes a black hole and plays no defense. Hows that working for them?
We arent going to have many, if any, chances to sign all star players until we improve or come up with a way to trade for one. Take advantage.
Defense might suffer with him and zeller but they will be very tough to stop on offense.
Id be cool with it. I mean, are we really going to be greedy here? If Jefferson wants to sign here, sure, he has weaknesses but hes one of the best offensive big men in the game, and pairing him with Zeller and Biyombo down low gives us a very good front court to build around.
Henderson is better but Mayo fits this team better, so im going with Mayo. This team lacks a 3 pt shooter and Mayo can do just that. Henderson is good but a lineup of kemba-mayo-mkg-zeller-biyombo would be a very good young and balanced team.
Id love to have Henderson back, but since we have mkg, id rather get someone who can score, and mayo can/will do that.
