#3293662 The genius that is the Gettleman 2014 draft

Posted by bdub515 on 21 March 2015 - 04:17 PM

Good work.  The only pick I think is even within the realm of question is Ealy to be swapped out with Jarvis Landry.  If Ealy turns into a stud though, obviously it will have worked out for the best.  I slammed my fist on the table during the draft when Desir was taken the pick before us, heh.

I did the same thing with Desir lol, I had to look up who Benwikere was after the draft but felt a little better after watching the videos out there on him and is now one of my favorite players on the defense.  With the whole Hardy situation Ealy seems to be more and more of a good pick. They have a lot of similarities and I think Ealy could be the perfect replacement for him, let's not forget Hardy didn't come out of the gates eating up QB's either so there is still time to see what Kony can become. I can't help but think what could have been with a KB-Landry pairing though. He would've solved our returner issues last season as well

Thank you Lambeth! Got kicked out for flipping off most of their fan base after Luke got sent off. I'll be spending the rest of my night in the parking lot lmao

I'll be there as well! I'm so pumped it's my first time getting to see Cam and company in person. Can't wait to see all the other Panther fans that make the trip up to support our team

Broncos just cut a guy named Sione Fua, sounds like a beast. I think we should give him a shot!

#2780455 Can we expect a trade?

Last night I was thinking trading DeAngelo to Tennessee straight up for Roos. It would allow Sankey to be mentored by a great vet and we shore up the OL, win win

I've warmed up to the idea of KB as well.

As have I, if Cooks isn't on the board I wouldn't be disappointed with Kelvin

You gotta take Kouandjio if hes there.

No you don't, I wouldn't take him until the 2nd and that's only if Billy Turner isn't there anymore. In the first I would take Cody Latimer, Davante Adams, or Jordan Matthews. All very similar but all will be good pros imo.

Side note - I automatically discredit any post on here where you can't even spell the guys last name you are talking about. I have seen wayyy too many people on here say they want that "Lattimore" kid or "Kudanjo" etc. Learn a little something about these guys before you form an opinion jeez

Walter: 4/23/2014

(1) Marqise Lee, WR, USC
(2) Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
(3) Jarvis Landry, WR, LSU
(4) Christian Kirksey, LB, Iowa
(5) Deion Belue, CB, Alabama

If this happened I'd literally poo my pants with joy. All 5 are great players imo

#2733706 NFLShop trolling?

Posted by bdub515 on 09 April 2014 - 10:16 PM

I don't know but they're definitely trolling with that $100 Armanti Edwards jersey they've got in the sidebar

That's what I was thinking, the #2 Bersin jersey puts it over the top.

Whoa, I AM actually trying to make banana pudding at the moment for my girl's birthday. Weird coincidence.

I actually have more hope for King than I do McNutt. King was just a victim of Denver being too stacked at the receiver position. They tried stashing him on the practice squad but Gettles knew something as he snatched him as soon as he could. With a full off-season under these guys' belts this will be the true test of what we have in these young guys. Personally I can't wait to see what they look like on the field this year.

#2714120 Undrafted sleepers

Posted by bdub515 on 23 March 2014 - 11:22 PM

I pied him just for using the phrase "catch radius".

The people who post in the draft forum generally know about 5 times as much about prospects and the draft process in general, than the yahoos that post draft stuff in the main forum.

The draft is my bread and butter, draft weekend is by far my favorite time of the football season. You get to see a glimpse of the future of your team and see who really know what they are doing as far as scouting goes. I have been watching everything I can on this year's prospects with the limited resources you can get on youtube/other video sites mainly focusing on the WR's and TE's but have scouted quite a few DB's and DL too. I'll compile a bigger list of potential hidden gems once I have more time I'd love to hear what you guys think of them. I'm curious what you guys think of AC Leonard, he's been mocked as high as the 5th round and as low as the 7th but his assault charge might see him going the way of undrafted but he is a freak athlete.

I'm a fan of Fresno St's TE Marcel Jensen. He's projected to go in the 7th round in most mocks but could easily fall out and go undrafted. He's a bigger TE (6'6 260) who had a slower 40 time (4.85) and 3 cone drill at the combine but he looked fluid running and good in the catching drills. He's obviously a project/development player but he'd be a good blocker for our running game taking Hartsock's spot if he could beat out THE Mike McNeil (lol) and he has a ridiculous catch radius as he had the longest arms of all the TE's at the combine. Carr didn't really use his TE's in that pass happy offense and wasn't asked to do much so his stats don't wow but I would definitely take a flier on this kid. A 6'6 TE with 35" Arms and a 35" vertical too = a damn good red zone threat to me imo

#2708165 QB's will fall

Posted by bdub515 on 20 March 2014 - 10:58 AM

Apparently Bortles wowed at his pro day and Bill O'Brien walked away impressed. IMO he may not be as pro-ready as Bridgewater but he has the higher ceiling and can potentially be a team's franchise QB.  I'm in the opposite boat of the OP, I think Bortles goes #1 which will cause a run on QBs at 3, 4, maybe 5. Rumor is if Carr has a good pro day today then he will sneak in the 1st as well either at #8, #20, or maybe even someone trading up for him later in the 1st. This would obviously be best case scenario for us since that leaves a lot of the skill position players available for us so I hope to god I'm right.
