Good reasoning. I sitll believe he will be a bust, I'd rather they pick him in the second where it won't be a bigger waste than in the first. Especially when there are other players that are safer and better picks than him. Hope that makes sense, if it doesn't. Oh well, can't explain it to you any clearer.
I just have trouble with the concept of saying someone is a bust but still being ok with using a second on them. If they are going to be a bust wouldn't you just not take them and use the 2nd on somebody else?
I've been looking at Cam Newton threads on other sites recently. It's a shame that no one wants to admit how good he is. Everyone is in denial it seems. Some even go as far as saying we should have taken Gabbert. ( People also said we should have traded down for The Golden Calf of Bristol )
Knee injuries don't just disappear. Guys like TD and AP appear to be exceptions to the rule. Kouandjio, however, isn't a physical freak. In addition, he carries around a 300+ frame. Knee complexities are guaranteed with Cyrus. That's not Nostradamus talk, that's just logic.
He wasn't so raw 6-7 months ago. Regardless, being undeveloped and lacking technique isn't the issue here because he mauled slower DEs (especially in the run game). It's his hips, feet, and playing style. He's not fast or agile enough to stop LEs at the next level. Thus, Kouandjio is better suited at RT. Run-blocking is his speciality anyways. You may disagree but until he proves otherwise, clips of Cyrus being obliterated in the final stretch of 2013-14 season is evidence enough of him being considered as a RT by coaching staffs.
Please show me the "knee issues" that haven't been categorically dismissed over and over again until then you are completely talking out of your ass.
Outside Cyrus' knee, why the hell does anyone want a guy who'd get lit up by a DE with borderline above average speed and agility? I don't see us wasting our 28th pick on a RT that'll only be in the league for 5-6 years at best.
Fails to mention Aj Klein or the UDFAs that helped us out a ton last year. We are slowly but surely building solid depth. If we hit atleast 3 picks to get starters out of this draft we will be in great position for the future
