#2874714 cam getting in ealy's ear at practice today....

We are on a completely different situation than Greg was entering. Hardy didn't have time, ealy does. The point of this article is cam is showing that every single person matters. I don't think anybody has seen this kind of leadership in years or I could be exaggerating the situation.

You can just tell by the flow of practices and the encouragement or criticism by cam that this is his team. This is cams team. And he's holding everybody accountable.

I think about the teams I played for. I was never that kind of guy . Because that kind of guy was rare. I've only seen that kind of leader once in my life and he plays in the mlb right now.

No need to panic yet

No panic here at all. It's just cool to read stories like this and see progression because of it. I want him to make an impact immediately if possible and it's obvious the other players want him to as well

just posted on panthers.com

basically a lot of people, myself included, have been a tad concerned about Ealy's impact THIS season. i personally think he is going to be fine but would like a pick this high to contribute to the team in some sort of fashion this upcoming year. Some posters have already alluded to him possibly being inactive for game days because our d-line is sooo stacked.

this is just speculation of course but today in practice Ealy got an earful from Cam and the day before from Luke for not sprinting off the field.

here are some really good quotes from Ealy and the Panthers article and what he's trying to do this year...

"Cam was challenging me, and I went out there and showed him," said Ealy, the Panthers' second-round draft choice. "Then after practice, Cam was like, 'That's what I'm talking about. Do that every day.'

"Basically he was telling me, 'We're counting on you this season. This is what we need you to do in order to be more successful.' That's the type of support I'm getting."

notice Cam said THIS season. It's hard to find your place on a #2 ranked Defense that is already stacked in the position group that you are in.

"Saturday, when Johnson went out after tweaking his hamstring, there was no rest for the weary. Then came an earful from Newton, peppering the rookie between plays with well-placed verbal jabs."

"That does nothing but energize me. It feeds my fire," Ealy said. "I like it. I like to talk, too.

"At the same time, we all have one common goal, and that's to be victorious."

this is what you like to hear not only from Ealy but Cam.

"I'm very thankful for it, especially at this level where we're all men," Ealy said. "It could be every man for himself, but this team is different. There are a lot of guys on the defensive side of the ball – not just my position group – and on the offensive side of the ball helping out.

"I'm learning a lot from Chuck (Charles Johnson) and G. Hardy and really all the vets on the D-line. I'm basically like a little brother to everybody. They're making sure I know everything I need to know before going into this first game. Everybody wants so much for me."

"The list of Panthers pushing Ealy is headed by Ealy himself."

"Nobody has a higher expectation than God or me," Ealy said. "I expect to do so many great things, but I want to just be there and do my part for my teammates."

There are a lot of things to take away from this article imo. This is officially Cam's team. You can argue about Luke but imo Cam is the ultimate leader and face of the franchise. The organization is in good hands with Cam who has no qualms with stepping over to the other side and telling a defensive player what it takes to be apart of and successful on this team. And today's practice maybe a big stepping stone for Ealy. Nothing better than a high draft pick coming in and making an impact on our team.

This is why we need J-Stew who can hit hole faster and still have power! BTW Cam wouldn't have been denied if it was his carry!

I don't want the planet to break in half if cam and luke hit each other

norman's problem is in his head not his body.

i would argue he is the best corner we have athletically. he just doesn't seem to get the system we are trying to run. i think he realizes it's do or be cut. so hopefully he balls. because he has the talent to be great.

There were reports that ealy had a big head in college. I don't know if that's true. But they just knocked him down a peg. It will be a testament to his character, which is already very high. Will he respond with working harder and focusing in the classroom or will he fold. This is leadership from cam and this is what makes good teams great.

We will find out in the coming years because ealy has explosion and talent. We will see if he wants it. I don't doubt that he does.
