#2841759 Stepping back to take a look at the new offense; staying on top of the NFC

Winning the south title again would be nice but I'm just looking for playoffs back to back years.

We need it for this organization, city, state(s)

#2841117 How Much Pressure on KB13?

Posted by TheRumGone on 06 July 2014 - 02:15 PM

Smitty would have been our best receiver this year. Cutting him makes us worse and that seems counter productive when we were a top 3 team in the NFC last year. It's just a question of whether the long term savings make up enough ground to justify surrounding your young quarterback with bargain bin wideouts and a rookie during what could be a playoff year.

take away the name on the back of his jersey, look at the stats/games of the people we brought in and compare them.

this is a 35 year old reciever who ended last season with a busted knee. Who could not get seperation, who made crucial drops last year (he made some great catches as well), who does not have breakaway speed. And then tell me why we would even try to pay that man 22 million over the next 2 years with the contracts we have coming up. It makes no fuging sense.

saying a receiver who had 10tds last season as bargain bin is stupid. And i don't care who tries to justify J. Cotch as a "bargain bin" player, because he is wayyy more than just that.

these guys we replaced smitty and lafell with don't drop the fuging football. They are literally the same type of players without drop problems/health problems.

and than oh yea that best receiver this year belongs to a man by the names of Greg Olsen (the most reliable receiver on the team last year)

#2841040 How Much Pressure on KB13?

Posted by TheRumGone on 06 July 2014 - 10:58 AM

"It's important that the Panthers get Benjamin on the field in positions to succeed (and help the team) but don't hamper Benjamin's development by putting too much on his plate too early."

that's the best part of the article. and something DG has stressed with Benjamin. We've got good coaches, they will throw him into the fire, so to speak, but i believe in the coaches to put him in the best situations to succeed. Good thing about Cam is he spreads the ball around a ton, so with this leaning on benjamin thing is going to be moot point, imo.

also, i'm expecting one other reciever/te to step up. *hint* *hint* Bdub

#2839021 Response to Toddler Car Death Thread

Posted by TheRumGone on 03 July 2014 - 09:53 AM

This is truly an amazing and unbelievable thread.

Before I posted my response to you in the other thread I felt the slightest bit of guilt using that unbelievably horrible experience you had with your child as an attempt to show your lack of empathy for other folks that you continually post here. But whatever, maybe at some point you'll pull a George Wallace but old people are so stuck in their ways it's impossible to even reach people like you to think outside of themselves like I have done many times before to gain a better understanding of humans in general.

So good luck in life mh, hope your kids become super successful yet compassionate. One of which I'm sure won't be taught by you.

#2837767 Best Cam Newton Article of the offseason?

"The point here isn't to blame Newton's supporting cast for his lack of progress but to highlight that he has in fact progressed despite his receiving corps going the other direction."

best line in the entire article.

Also, you should read Into the Wild if you have never read it.

excellent point. this book will diverge thematically from into the wild, and unlike chris mccandless i do not end my story dead in the back of a bus, but i will be careful.

Yes that is the major difference lol

i hope to god the general public feels this way. haha

i'm going to re-tool the first three chapters based on what everyone's suggested and re-post if it's significant enough (and just snippets if not.) if any of you have the stamina to keep contributing then i will be deeply in your debt.

i don't know if i'll post too much more from here on out unless i've got specific constructive questions, now that i've got the foundation laid, but i'm sure material will surface here and there :)

Cool man. The only advice I can give is to make sure this isn't a into the wild knock off. Cause there are major similarities in the storyline. I was engrossed in the story though
