#2512468 Cam Newton's "Flop" and "Acting" Is What Got Us The Win -...

Posted by TheRumGone on 25 November 2013 - 02:12 AM

i actually thought the opposite was going to happen. i thought people would dick ride hard when we started winning.

we are genuinely a hated team and i think it all starts with our starting qb. the reader comments on some of these articles with backhanded comments like, "cam is just like jamarcus russell, the defense wins them games" stuff like that makes me realize Cam will always be a polarizing sports figure. nothing is going to change that.

i guess i shouldnt have been so naive.

#2512035 Post Game Interview Mike Mitchell with Locker Room video too!

Posted by TheRumGone on 24 November 2013 - 10:38 PM

You gotta wonder how that locker room was. And I REALLY wanna hear the opening speech to this week's practice. Coming off this win and having a big divisional game coming up before the OTHER big divisional game the following week. I want to hear what the coaches have to say about it to the team.

ron in his presser said he angrily told the players at halftime that they were "disrespecting the dolphins" in the first half. Meaning, they didn't come up to to play against a very good football team.

he blamed himself and the other coaches for not getting them prepared well enough. said it was very dissapointing and he let the players know that.

#2504716 SI says Star is leading for ROY

Posted by TheRumGone on 22 November 2013 - 12:13 PM

simply a matter of having the advantage of playing a glamour position

yup. kiko is also a freak regardless of the homerism here.

would love a 3 peat ROY, but even with kiko slowing down he's put up some gaudy numbers.

he's not gonna win it guys.

wish he would but kiko probably has this locked up.

#2504589 Question to fathers of teenage daughters...

Posted by TheRumGone on 22 November 2013 - 10:52 AM

It baffles me that we're the same age. I thought I was really immature and sh*t considering, but I guess not..?

dude he's just messing around, that's fug. chill the fug out.

as for the OP i would suggest getting the two to fight more often that way you can sneak down to the bar and have some free time for yourself. you will most definitely need it.

#2502921 Pats Blogger: Cam Newton Aced Belichick's Exam

Posted by TheRumGone on 21 November 2013 - 12:21 PM

yep. it's a bit different from what i was expecting, but still awesome.

i said i was expecting a bret favre type gunslinger who could beat you with his legs, but what we have is a lot better of a passer than that. he doesn't have the big throws much anymore, but he can eat up that field with very little mistakes.

i think that has more to do with not having a true #1. he's playing within the team's ability and thats evident by us being a more methodical, TOP type offense than big play team in years past (because of smitty's ability).

we draft a prototypical #1 WR and i think we will see a return of the big play.

#2502909 Pats Blogger: Cam Newton Aced Belichick's Exam

Posted by TheRumGone on 21 November 2013 - 12:14 PM

yep. also every week i keep seeing as the "keys to winning the game" for opposing teams is to pressure cam, shut down the run, and make cam beat you with his arm.

you'd think at some point they would figure out he's just about as dangerous as a passer as he is a runner. you've got to respect the whole package because he is just that...the whole package.

remember what all of us were talking about Cam this offseason?

it has finally come to fruition. he is utilizing his entire skill set. and it's amazing to watch.

#2502841 Ginn's catch lost in the shuffle (as pointed out by David Newton)

Posted by TheRumGone on 21 November 2013 - 11:18 AM

Agreed, but thats my point, he cant really excell an entire game running the WR route tree. He may get soft coverage and hit a stop route like Monday, but hes not going to bring an package of routes you have to prepare for. Hes not a #1 WR. nor a #2. Nor a slot. Hes a guy that if he can catch it.....will take the top off a defense and make the safety on that side account for him. Hes a good asset to have, hence a great #3.

agreed
