#2408560 Beason traded?

Sounds like Beason wanted the trade:

Joe Person ‏@josephperson 1m
Takeaway from Rivera's comments: Beason wanted to be a starter, asked for that opportunity in a professional manner. #Panthers accommodated.

a lot of people figured as much.

You can't even be mad for getting a multi time All-Pro for a 7th. Even if it doesn't pan out, the upside is clearly worth the risk. He'll recover from his injury more and more, and he can at least be a decent starter. For a 7th on a team with a terrible LB core? That's straight money.

We traded for what, Louis Murphy? Colin Jones? In the same realm of picks. They're getting a dude that was universally considered a top two MLB for years.

people really need to stop with this hyperbole. they are essentially getting somebody worse than blackburn. he's not the beast of old. you can flip words around and try and make it pretty but it's not. beason is not the same.

#2408048 Thanks, Jon

put it this way. beason will still be talked about for a long, long time around these parts.

thanks for everything you've done for the panthers jon. best of luck.

We didn't even try to give up mid round picks for a perennial LT but would rather keep stocking/adding low picks for the hell of it?

that wasn't the question i asked but ok whatever

Yo Mama

Beason has played in what 4 games in 2 years and you are trying to compare him to a starting left tackle for compensation.

you are a lunatic.

With all this talk about Blackburn, I would have guessed that he was the 3X All-Pro and 2X Pro Bowler...

But no, he is the player that graded out with one of the worst grades (PFF) against his former and most believe that he even knew a lot of the calls.

But hey... Beason for a 6th is a good deal... psh

and beason giving up over 100 yards and a td in coverage was better.

come on man. as a fan everybody should be sad, but being realistic this is best for both parties. jon gets a chance at mlb, the panthers move on from a once great panther and a great dude.

They desperately needed a Lb, they should be willing to give up something more than a low pick. This is Gman helping to save his former team. He could've trade Beason to anywhere and he had to chose NYG.

what world do you live in?

I don't even know what that means Red.

Kaepernick runs a pretty basic offense. Bob had most of his liberties taken by Shanahan after the injury. Russel Wilson is a guy with more control over his offense than Cam has. Russel Wilson is a guy they talk about having the demeanor and work ethic of a great QB.

I've heard many people question Cam's work ethic. There are some people in the Panthers building that felt like Cam didn't put in the work during the 2012 off season. I'm not sitting here comparing Cam Newton to all of the bust QBs like some people do. I'm comparing him to the best because that is what he can be. I'll go back and watch some Giants this weekend but most of what I say comes from things I've seen or read. Sometimes it comes from Steve Smith who I would think knows what he's talking about.

Cam does put in work. Nobody is denying that. But does he put in NFL QB work or NFL Elite QB work?

wut. RW does not have more control over his offense than Cam.

Cam's work ethic is second to none
