#2620671 Second Chance Songs

Kyuss and Mr. Bungle

I gave them both second chances a long time ago and have pretty much listened to nothing but their respective genres since.

I already liked everything else I like.

Kyuss kicks major ass

#2620596 The Southern Springsteen: Patterson Hood

http://gardenandgun....ern-springsteen

I've been a big fan of the drive by truckers for some years now. Some of you may recognize a song from them on a Chevy truck commercial. (I think it's where the devil don't stay, but these guys, have been around writing together since the 80s and have put out around 14 studio albums.

I remember reading a thread about how country/southern rock is dead. These guys have been proving otherwise for quite some time.

Patterson Hood reminded me of Springsteen before I read this article. His lyrics are quirky, funny, nostalgic socially conscious without being preachy, and he has a awesome ability to bringing the listener into a different place and time.

There really is no other motive for this thread other than to bring attention to this kickass band from Athens, Georgia. This was a great read for any DBT fan. And check out "southern rock opera" or "decoration day" for any new listener.

#2620585 Is Brandon Williams our answer for a second tight end?

I have no idea. And no one else should

i remember thinking linkin park was pretty revolutionary when they came out but listening to them again it's generic poo.

but the one band that took me a second chance to really dig was modest mouse. I remember a friend playing "lonesome crowded west" and i just kept telling him to turn it off i thought it was awful.

then we were driving back up to college listening to "we were dead before the ship even sank" and it clicked. i think it was because someone close to me had just recently died and this song came up on the playlist

went back and listened to all their albums from the beginning and now they are one of my favorite bands

#2619663 Charles Johnson's cap figure

Posted by TheRumGone on 17 January 2014 - 12:44 AM

I guess the real argument then is, is CJ a top 5 DE talent? I'm not so sure

He isn't a sack specialist. He is an overall talented player.

Lots of people think a DE making that much should be putting up OLB sack totals. When CJ was completely healthy last year he had 12.5 sacks, 7 forced fumbles and 42 total tackles. This year he missed a couple games and still put up 11.5 sacks. That is an all around elite defensive end

#2618347 Did Star and Short wear down?

Posted by TheRumGone on 16 January 2014 - 12:11 AM

Not sure about KK but I know Star played a ton of snaps at Utah, so the rookie wall might have not been as big of a deal for him?

They both played over 90% of snaps. This was the big knock on both of them especially kk. He made insane splash plays then looked like he didn't care. But that's what happens when at 300 lb plus guy plays that much. As the Purdue coach said about kk, " he has the ability to take over the game"

Oakland is the team I keep hearing and reading. They have a poo ton of cap space.

The key is for this offense to remain similar but also have those big plays splashed in there. We shouldn't be leading the league in TOP but we should be top ten. Find balance.

We have RBs like Gore and Lynch. Dwill is faster than both and Stew has about the same power as Gore. Lynch is in his own league with Charles. The problem is there was no push or hole generated from the O line thus no running game. That is why Cam had to ball it out this year. Fix the Oline and everything improves (run game, cam has more time to find wrs, wrs have more time to get open) a run game also commits an extra man in the box which will help the passing game. Domino effect. We saw how the dominos fell with fixing the d-line.

i have no problems with that but we HAVE to draft a reciever early for Cam. I was all for fixing the d-line last year because i thought the overall team would improve, which it did.

We need recievers for Cam, bottom line. Good thing is we can fix both in this draft and FA i think.

what did he say?

he praised hurney for drafting this young core. than specifically said "for drafting Cam" that this was the best possible situation for a new GM to be in and that he had picked right.

at the end of the presser what gettleman said...

please nobody ever doubt that gettleman wants Cam here again.

#2613007 Upon further review, we should go o line in 1st round instead of receiver

Posted by TheRumGone on 13 January 2014 - 01:15 PM

if we don't draft a reciever in the first 3 rounds i will turn on gettleman so fuging fast.
