A national championship match-up would be like last year's Iron Bowl. The listing team would never live it down. I am fine with that if Duke losses but it is not worth the risk.

More like a fire half of the offensive line meeting.

Of course... then what?

Then we put a blocking sled out there...improvement.

#3086282 With all the gas prices going down...

Posted by Goondal on 14 November 2014 - 08:12 AM

From what I understand a lot of airlines buy fuel in advance and lock in prices so with the falling price of fuel this year they are not getting the added benefit of the price drop because of improperly hedging of their fuel funds , but who could of predicted the price drop going on now .

Exactly, airline tickets take much longer to react to changing prices for this very reason. I remember when oil was in the $130s power barrel range Southwest had much lower fares than others because they were still paying the price from when it was around 70.

Personally I would had up into the mountains. Sparsely populated, the terrain would be more difficult for them to navigate and I figure the cold would work to my advantage, either way I cannot imagine it would hurt

#3070540 NFL London: You Guys Good With This?

Posted by Goondal on 06 November 2014 - 10:16 AM

Here is my solution to the London business.  Get rid of two preseason games and extend the season to nineteen weeks and seventeen games.  Each team gets eight home games, eight road games, and one neutral site game in London (or expand to other cities if so desired).  Every team gets two byes, one of which comes after the neutral site game.  The neutral site games begin Week 2 so that everybody is stateside for Week 1.  Have one a week ending Week 17, meaning the last bye is Week 18 and everybody plays in the final week.  Have the London games played early just like the Atlanta/Detroit game.  This provides compromises on a lot of issues that different people want:

Preseason is shorter

Regular season extended

A full schedule of games overseas (which NFL wants but an actual team based there will never work)

Develop fanbases overseas as fans of every team get one opportunity to see them every season

No team put at a competitive disadvantage by losing a home game

Opens up another block of games for the networks (CBS and FOX both get eight early games)

lmfao that was pretty conceited. But we all know that that is the reason it was a big event, because of him.

Big event?  Yes.  One of the biggest in the history of sports?  Not even close
