#3231640 Why are guys better looking than girls?

I could tell you why you feel that way but you may not like the answer

#3230678 If Cam, Romo or Peyton threw that game ending INT....

Agreed but...........you ever see a Lynch run take 2 seconds ?

And if the run takes too long then you can make the decision to pass on third down or run a run/pass option

I also would not have been taking my sweet ass time either.

Would have preferred we fired the dude and hired from outside the organization, but this is better than nothing.  If only we would do the same thing with Shula.

What exactly led Cowherd to make those comments to begin with?

#3228388 Early odds on next years superbowl

Posted by Goondal on 02 February 2015 - 11:54 AM

I do not think it is that bad, we should probably be 40-1 as I think we fit in to that group (would put us behind Cards/Rams and ahead of Chiefs/Chargers/Giants).  The only team better than 40-1 that I do not get is the Saints.

The fan experience is great, but I get the same emotions from MLB

#3228234 How Did Brady Win Superbowl MVP over Malcolm Butler?

I would have voted Brady over Butler, but I would have voted Edelman over both.

You know the Riverboat would have gone for it too in that situation!

Yeah, not so much actually.

He probably would have taken a knee to start the drive

#3224429 What is the #1 headline you want to hear this offseason?

Dez Bryant stuns Cowboys, take less money to pay with Cam Newton

#3222765 Gun nuts are mostly just assholes

Posted by Goondal on 28 January 2015 - 06:56 PM

There is something wrong with that woman.

That being said, I disagree with the title.  The gun nuts I have met in my life have been mostly decent people.  As with any group the assholes and nuts are just louder and obviously gain more press.

#3222460 Fox Sports three round Mock for the Carolina Panthers

Let's not make him someone that he isn't, and that is worse than Josh Gordon. Quite the exaggeration here. If anything DGB is headed on a similar path, but he is so young, his story is just starting to be written. It is not like he stole a laptop or threw anyone on a bed full of guns (just a joke for those sensitive types.)

He smoked marijuana; a substance that I guarantee most on this forum have tried at least once in their life if not more.

He just got caught...and was in the wrong state.

That is all any of us know. We can assume he has a problem and that he is a bad person like the media does, or we can try not to further tarnish the namesake of a person that very well may be doing all he can to seek the help he needs.

Would I draft him? The talent is insane. Closest thing to Calvin Johnson that has come out since the man himself. On the other hand, 1st round guaranteed money would be hard to do.

I think the Panthers will pass...especially since they sat a man for an entire season for a crime that he MAY HAVE committed.

In my opinion though, Hardy should have played until found guilty by jury, and the Panthers would be stupid to completely write off DGB without a second thought. Schedule multiple workouts and dinners/interviews and decide face to face if this is a guy they should take a gamble on.

Biggest boom/ bust player in the draft...but sometimes you have to take risks. Only Gett, Rivera, and Rich can will be able to get close enough to this guy to see if he is worth it.

So...would I do it? If I was in a position to talk with the young man, and I see he has taken sincere steps to distance himself from that past.......Hell yes I draft him. Worth the risk to me.

you are correct. Sadly I doubt we are the franchise to look at it this way

The University of Utah has treated us well over the years.  If we go this route then hopefully that trend continues.

Once the Rams move the entire NFC West will actually be in the Western Time Zone.

#3222354 Interesting move by Wake and UNC

Posted by Goondal on 28 January 2015 - 11:10 AM

Who knows how long it will take for it to happen, but Notre Dame joining in football will happen.  At that point they will add a sixteenth team.  When the idea of sixteen teams was first floated I head talks of a "pod system" with four pods of four teams.

One of the biggest negatives against going to nine games for the ACC was that with five teams getting Notre Dame also that would limit the flexibility of those teams in scheduling to two games, for those with natural OOC rivals (Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville) they would already have two and only one on ND years.  If Notre Dame is in the conference then they would not be an extra game, but rather a normal conference game.  If they went to nine games and scraped their stupid jumbled divisions idea then this pod system could work really well.

Pod A: Boston College, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Notre Dame

Pod B: Virginia, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Team #16

Pod C: Carolina, Duke, State, Wake

Pod D: Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Miami-Fla

Teams in Pods A & B could change depending on who the final team was.

With nine games you would play three games against your pod and then mirror the NFL where your entire pod plays another entire pod.  Finally you play two teams from another pod.  Year two you play the same teams but on opposite campuses.  Then year three you play the Pod you have not played and the final two teams you did not play.  Example:

UNC (Duke would play the same teams but flip the home/away)

Year 1: (home) Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia (away) Miami-Fla, Clemson, Virginia Tech

Year 2: (away) Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia (home) Miami-Fla, Clemson, Virginia Tech

Year 3: (home) Boston College, Syracuse, Louisville (away) Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Team #16

Year 4: (away) Boston College, Syracuse, Louisville (home) Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Team #16

Year 5: (home) Virginia, Louisville, Boston College (away) Virginia Tech, Team #16, Notre Dame

Year 6: (away) Virginia, Louisville, Boston College (home) Virginia Tech, Team #16, Notre Dame

Year 7: (home) Florida State, Georgia Tech, Syracuse (away), Miami-Fla, Clemson, Pittsburgh

Year 8: (away) Florida State, Georgia Tech, Syracuse (home), Miami-Fla, Clemson, Pittsburgh

Year 9: (home) Boston College, Syracuse, Florida State (away) Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Miami-Fla

Year 10: (away) Boston College, Syracuse, Florida State (home) Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Miami-Fla

Year 11: (home) Virginia, Louisville, Georgia Tech (away) Virginia Tech, Team #16, Clemson

Year 11: (away) Virginia, Louisville, Georgia Tech (home) Virginia Tech, Team #16, Clemson

You would never go more than two years without playing a conference opponent and would play every single conference team at least once at home and once on the road during a player's four year career, which is how it should be.
