#2956155 Statement by AP

Posted by Goondal on 15 September 2014 - 08:06 PM

Peterson is the worst of the bunch. Hardy in McDonald are denying and Rice is apologizing. Peterson is saying he did no wrong other than accidentally hit his son's scrotum.

His statement should've read, "I was wrong to assault my child and will never do it again." Instead he suggested he'll continue to assault his children.

Exactly, he actually thinks he did nothing wrong.  It is astounding.

Where are you seeing mass support for it?

(except maybe in Minnesota)

All over the internet, as well as on the radio.  "I got hit with a switch and turned out just fine" and "it is nobody's business how I choose to abuse discipline my child" are the two main arguments.

Imagine what would be going on right now had this happened to the mother as opposed to her four-year-old son

I find it despicable,  especially considering the outrage over Rice and Hardy, that so many people seem just fine with it.  Seems Rice's big mistake was hitting a grown woman as opposed to a four year old child.  The only person that you are legally allowed to hit in this society are children.  What does it say about our society that we protect everybody except those that need it the most?

Yes Daddy Peterson, what was done to that child was child abuse, having it done to you as a child is not justification.

#2947556 Apparently ESPN's Outside the Lines did a hit piece on Greg Hardy this mo...

Because no one ever calls them out on it.

I get that.  It is still mind blowing to me that nobody in the national media has the integrity to stand up and say "this is how things work."

Social media, twenty-four hour news, etc. are an awful thing sometimes.  Back in the day at least mob mentality would only extend to 300 people as opposed to 300,000,000

#2947487 ECU vs VT

Posted by Goondal on 13 September 2014 - 03:14 PM

3/10 of my fantasy football league is Ohio State fans, two of them are the annoying types.  If UNC wins next week (not making a prediction, it should be a very good game) then my new team name will be: UNC>ECU>VT>OSU = UNC>OSU, Math said so

Its called due process. Panthers are doing the right thing.

I just saw Mark Schlereth say twice that due process has already taken its course.  How are people allowed to say this crap on air?  It is totally mind boggling.

#2947396 National Interest in Hardy just ended....

Reading the comments on ESPN has me sick to my stomach.  There seem to be a lot more people that think this is no big deal than there are people that are disgusted.  There really are times that I hate being a member of this species.

Did I say it was ok? Did I not say I don't condone his actions? I'm trying to figure out how his brain works and if he can be fixed.

I get what you are saying but I think you could have added some clarification to the end of the post.  The way the post ended has me confused somewhat as well.

#2947263 Advice from NFL players

Brett Favre- Hide YO penis.

Thank you for this, after reading all about Peterson and getting pissed off about the whole thing I needed a laugh.

This whole thing is just disgusting.  Assuming he did this, and he certainly does not seem to be denying it, then this is far worse than Ray Rice.  At least for the NFL the pictures are out there so they cannot get caught hiding them.

#2947114 Jerry Richardson demonstrating character

Posted by Goondal on 13 September 2014 - 10:25 AM

No media outlet or analyst has even bothered to research the NC court process at all. And since when has the NFL become the National Federation of Law enforcement. I didn't know it was the NFL’s job to handle criminal cases & the judicial process. fug the media and their overracting asses.

I have been saying this all along.  What Ray Rice did was awful.  What Adrian Peterson seems to have done is disgusting.  If he is guilty then what Hardy did was awful as well.  That being said, we have a criminal justice system to take care of these cases, it is not the NFL's job.  The fact that Rice got off easy is not on the Ravens nor Goddell, it is on the New Jersey criminal justice system.

#2942087 Around the Horn called for Hardy's suspension

Posted by Goondal on 10 September 2014 - 07:07 PM

When outside organizations and politics get involved it turns into a witch hunt, people want to be able to say, years from now, I was the first to speak out on that, ecspecially in the media! I hate it, but I feel it's only a matter of time before Greg is suspended as a last itch effort to save face for the NFL front office. Back people into a corner and they will respond irrationally.

MLB and steroids is a great example
