Which DEF and FLEX?

Which one should I go with to bring home the title?

FLEX: I have L. Murray in there now.  Could also play Daniel Herron, Mike Wallace, or Joseph Randall.

I also have D. Murray at RB but considering he is supposed to play I am figure I have to roll with him and pray he is okay.

DEF: Miami (v. Min) is in there now but I also could take Houston (v. Bal) or the Giants (v. StL)

The New Year's Six Bowls

07 December 2014 - 12:17 PM

This is something I thought about a few weeks ago when reading about the bowls.  Here are the bowls:

Rose: B1G v. PAC-12

Sugar: SEC v. Big XII

Orange: ACC v. SEC/B1G/Notre Dame

Cotton: At Large v. At Large

Fiesta: At Large v. At Large

Peach: At Large v. At Large

The Top Group of Five gets in if they are not in the playoff and the ACC goes to the Fiesta or Peach if the Orange is in the playoff

Now here is the part I think is poorly planned, the schedule for the semi-finals is:

2014: Sugar and Rose

2015: Orange and Cotton

2016: Peach and Fiesta

This year, four of the five conference auto-bids are in the playoff, providing a lot of flexibility for the committee when selecting the other bowls.  The ACC goes to the Orange as does an SEC/B1G/Notre Dame and Boise State goes somewhere but other than that they have free reign.

In 2015 the Sugar and Rose bowls are both decided by auto-bids and an ACC team goes to the Peach or the Fiesta and the Group of Five leader also goes to the Peach or Fiesta, leaving only two at-large teams.

Then in 2016, the Sugar and Rose as well as one Orange Bowl spot are auto bids.  The other Orange has to be SEC/B1G/Notre Dame.  That means the Group of Five leader is automatically in the Cotton Bowl and then there is only one true at-large spot, also a Cotton Bowl spot.

It seems to me they would have been better off having the Sugar, Rose, and Orange in three different years, thus providing them more flexibility.

Any good sports bars in Spartanburg area?

14 November 2014 - 03:32 PM

My brother and I are coming into town for a Panthers/Hornets double on Sunday-Monday.  He is driving up from FL and picking me up at in Spartanburg around 3.  We will probably stay in the area on Saturday and he is a Florida State fan and wants to go watch the game at a sports bar.  Any recommendations?
