#3197597 Describe a receiving corps that would best suit Cam

Posted by OneBadCat on 11 January 2015 - 02:19 PM

It wasn't neccesarily that last years WR's core was better. It just had pieces that complimented each other. Having Ginn and Smith's savy made last years offense more vertical than this one was.

This years squad has too many guys of the same skill set. Cotchery, Avant, and Bersin are players that serve the same function. Philly is decent, but he's young and it's a lot to put on a UDFA to beat Richard Sherman on a go route.

Had we kept Ginn and Steve Smith to team with KB we would have  hell of a WR core. You'd have the always open redzone guy in KB, the deep threat who gets yards in chunks with Ginn. And finally Steve Smith to make the clutch catches with YAC ability.

Right now we just need a guy with hands and speed.

We are a Tackle, WR, and Safety away from owning Seattle's ass.

#3190697 I've never believed the NFL was rigged...

The NFL does have a hand in games ever so slightly. If you want more evidence of refs cheating teams out of the game look at our very own Panthers. Every match up vs Dallas  since 2005 has been a screw job by the refs. Also look at the playoffs last year. they had a huge part in us not playing our game against the 49ers.

Nice thing to do. But could do better than a 92 LeSabre.

#3179707 Do we have a better chance than last year?

Posted by OneBadCat on 05 January 2015 - 02:53 AM

I the defense is definitely more balanced than last year. Our secondary is a good one now and are actually helping the d-line. Our pass rush was down right scary last year. But on the chance that you could stand them up our secondary could be exploited. Now we have starting material in the secondary, while the d-line is starting to find itself with fresh players.

Offensively though I'd say no. Run blocking/Push is better this year and certainly having Stewart play his ass off helps but the weaponry is not as beneficial.  With Ginn running down Cam's deep balls, and Smith being captain clutch I still think that offense is a little better and more vertical certainly. But also keep in mind KB has dropped a lot of huge plays. Cam was also better last year in certain aspects.

Actually on second thought. The offense this year is better or has the potential to be. This group is not as flawed in the receiving core but there's a lot of inexperience there. Im in the bandwagon that Smith could have stayed and would make devastating with KB. We are running the ball now on true authority and not just on the attention Cam gets from the defense. But I still say this current offense is not nearly as vertical and the fact that Cam was big time clutch last year.

#3179693 The Seahawks have owned our fat asses for the past half decade, but those bas...

One thing we have on our side is that we have literally learned all the mistakes you can make as a football team the past 3 years. This is a statement game for us. The only thing that could stop us I feel is if Ron believes he has something to lose this time around.  I think this team wants to show the league it is every bit the 2013 Panthers and then some. They want to show they are better than their record.

Look at the way Stewart runs the football. This man is not playing for money. He is flat out running with pride right now. He damn well knows all the negative poo that is spewed about him. He's playing to be the best right now. We are a team that is young but is also getting experienced. Look at all the guys we have growing together now. Norman, Luke, TD, Bene, Star, KK, CJ, Frank, Kalil, Cam, Olsen, KB. This game is 100% winnable.

Good teams beat the bad ones. So people can bash our record if they want. But no team had the adversity we had. We are playing good(mostly) football right now,

Haha of course he gets a bullshit ass kick return

#3152256 Would you be okay with a Cam Newton for Drew Brees Straight up Trade?

Posted by OneBadCat on 24 December 2014 - 01:58 PM

Obviously this is beyond hypothetical.

Hell no. Drew Brees is the most overrated QB in the NFL the past 3 years. Everyone crowns his ass for stat padding. If you want mass volume stats and game changing INTs Drew Brees is your guy. He is not on par with Brady or any of those guys. Brees is so exploitable and no one acknowledges it just because of the offense he plays in.

Dude is not a top 5 QB period.

I think Philly could potentially have a long career here. I don't see him being anything like Smitty but he sort of reminds a little bit of Santana Moss.

#3147326 What would you do? What would RR do?

Posted by OneBadCat on 21 December 2014 - 05:01 PM

Go for the first down. Gano has been sucking lately. Either way it goes if Atl gets the ball back they will go deep for bullsht pass interference penalties and refs will cheat us out of the game.

That was a bullsht penalty. Mingo was delaying the game. Should have called two fouls on the play.

#3135665 If the Panthers make the Playoffs...

I love the Panthers but none of the teams in the NFCS deserves to be in the playoffs.

Who cares.
