Our fan status was tested this season and most of us failed. Regardless of what happens Saturday I am very proud of this team and I hope I have learned from them.
This team has dealt with a lot of adversity. I am not just talking about the football Greg Hardy type. Start with DeAngelo losing his mother. His love for her and his devotion to working to find a cure for breast cancer has changed the NFL. It must be do hard for him now. He keeps a smile on his face.
Greg Olsen's son...gee..had an additional unexpected heart surgery. Greg spent nights at the hospital and days at practice. An wow did he show up on game days. How he did it I cannot imagine. He did this quietly, never talked about what he and his family were going through. Seeing TJ sitting on Sirr Purr's lap before the pounding of the drum Sunday was very, very touching.
Charles Johnson is dealing with the terminal illness of his grandmother.
And then there is The Car Accident.
Lose the locker room???? How in the hell did Rivera ever get their attention???
This is a team of extremely high character people. Players and coach. They deserve great fans. I hope we work to live up to that.
I think the Panthers will win Saturday. These guys have believed all along. Should be easy for me now, right? And, well, if that does not work out...... I am still glad I am a Panther fan. This team has taught me this season to be a real fan.
Just manned up and booked a flight out of NYC at 6:00pm on Friday night. Will be arriving in Charlotte around 8:00pm and bought a single ticket off TicketMaster in section 538, row 19, seat 12. Returning to the Big Apple on Sunday night.
An absolutely impulsive move on my end but the first game I ever attended at the Bank was our last minute drive against the Saints last season. I'm bringing good luck and apparently the rain, once again.
Anyways, is anyone willing to have me at their tailgate? It's a complete solo mission on my end and want to meet some more Huddlers while I am down there. I promise I am a good time. Maybe the Huddle will rally for one last Huddle playoff tailgate?
You are welcome at our tailgate. A few Huddlers around and a really nice group. My guess is we will start at about 9am ish. If interested will give you specifics. We are close to stadium. By the way, my seat is in sec 537.
Big mistake if we win, as ive said in another thread. I have 0 confidence this team can make a deep playoff run, yes "anything can happen" but thats just like me goong to Vegas and saying "i know the odds are GREATLY stacked against me, anything can happen." Well ofcourse "anything CAN happen" but what are the actual odds it WILL actually happen?
Having said that, we stand more to gain from losing then winning. If we lose we A. Secure a top 10 (slight chance at the 8th pick) in the draft and B. We drop our hated NFCs rival the Falcns all the way to early-mid 20s in the draft.
If I truely believed we had a legit shot at a deep playoff run, I would be all for going all in. Im sorry, but in my opinion its not worth dropping that far in the draft for the "moral victory" of saying we made the playoffs. I would love for the Falcons to be the team we screw by dropping them so far in the draft while watching them be one and done in the playoffs.
You would be fooling yourself if you didnt think the Falcons brass arent thinking the same thing. They are going to fire Mike Smith (already been reported), why would they want to make the playoffs and hurt their rebuild by dropping that much in the draft
