#2745273 Pitfalls of adopting a new pup

Posted by ladypanther on 20 April 2014 - 08:13 PM

I have a pit and a pit/lab mix...rescued after a neighbor abandoned them (along with the latter's 5 pups).  I had a tough time even finding a rescue organization willing to help me find homes for the dogs.   Finally found one to help me with the pups.  Still have the mother and the full pit.  They are awesome dogs.  Had no experience with the breed before.  I know now...owners are the problem...not the dogs.

Good luck to you.

Either he was on something, or he is just very stupid.

If A then B.

I feel bad for Spieth but I think he'll have a pretty good career.

Spieth was amazing.  Seems like a great young man as well as a great golfer.  The future seems bight for him.

Have to pull for this guy.  What a nice story if he makes it...a better story if he turns out to be very good.  Hope so.

#2726367 Jim Kelly's cancer has returned..

Posted by ladypanther on 03 April 2014 - 08:33 PM

Every time I see this thread bumped I expect to click in and read that he's gone :(

I read an article today that said a cure was possible for him with radiation and chemo.  Don't know what the odds are but hope it works.  Apparantly he did not have either before, guess they thought surgery was enough.

I was hoping for a more specific answer (not a condescending one).  For example...drops, poor route running., etc.  Anything correctable or has he hit his ceiling?

#2718926 Ray Rice indicted on 3rd degree aggravated assault

Posted by ladypanther on 27 March 2014 - 09:57 PM

Depends on what type of person he is outside of that and if it's an isolated incident. Would you want to be judged on the worst thing you've done in your life?

1. This is not an isolated incident.  It is just the only one made public via video.

2. This is not a mistake or a temporary lapse in jugement.  This type of behavior is an indicator of a deep seeded flaw similar to sociopathic behavior. It is resistant to treatment and does not change with "awareness" of the error of their ways.  The abuser only appears remorseful when a) caught by an outside source or     b ) a necessary tactic to get his way

3.  Most abusers look like upstanding citizens to the rest of the world.

But do you judge him by how he treats her in one moment, or many? I don't know them, they could have a perfect relationship where he treats her like a queen outside of that incident or he could be oj Simpson, idk. Does the good outweigh the bad? That's something only she can answer.

Many abused women are treated like queens in between episodes of abuse. That keeps them confused and often feeling they are to blame for the abuse. Does the good outweigh the bad?  That is the logic/guilt trip that has resulted in abused women staying in the relationship.  It has also killed many of them.

If the worst thing you have done in your life is abuse a spouse/partner, a child, an elderly person, or an animal....then yes.......it is fair to judge you by that "incident."

Very sorry to hear this.  Searched a few articles and it sounds like this is a very tough fight for Jim Kelly.  It is hard to understand why such bad things happen to good people.  I wish the best for Jim and his family.

#2712797 A sticky SALESman thread

Posted by ladypanther on 22 March 2014 - 09:04 PM

So....March marks 1 year in car sales (or sales period) for me.  Have stayed with the same company but my third location (came to number 3 in Nov).  Various reasons for changes...mostly was management support and opportunity.  So, as of today...I am 1 car away from my best month ever. If I can sell 4 more cars by the end of the month, I get a very good bonus.  And...I am in the lead for sales person of the month. (Which gets another bonus)

I like where I am because we have good products and believe it or not...the managers are honest and expect the same from the sales staff.

Bad news is...weather is turning crappy.  On the positive...last week of the month is usually the best.  Hope latter can counter the first.

Please wish me luck....I need it.  Send good vibes my way.
