#2849147 Hornets sign Brian Roberts

Posted by RoaringRiot on 13 July 2014 - 04:18 PM

I repeat: ...it's still too much. Where is he so great at that the stretch 4 had to be him?

If the Hornets wanted Lance Stephenson and he wanted $15M and refused to budge, you know what the Hornets would do? They would cease negotiating with him.

If Marvin Williams required $7M a year, they should've moved on to the next "PF" on their list. Like someone said in the Williams thread, if they were going to pay him $7M, they might as well have just given that to McRoberts if they "really wanted him back" like they claimed.

Williams should've gotten $5.5 - 6M at the most.

No one wanted to even give McRoberts that much, and Williams is a better scorer, but he doesn't bring as much heart, hustle and passing as McRoberts did.

If you can't see the hypocrisy in this deal, check your vision.

It reeks of desperation.

Come on man....McBob wanted more years. They paid more for MW so they could only have him for two years so the young PFs can continue to develop. How do you not see the difference here if you're going to be so critical of the front office?

And you still could've gotten Marvin Williams for less than $7M per season. Who else wanted him, and what were they offering?

You don't know, I don't know, but Cho does. So seriously...stop acting like it's such a horrible deal when you have no idea who was going after him AND when it addresses our biggest position of need.

Stretch 4 need was > than another SG need. Period.

And the weakest position still hasn't been addressed, so if he did stop here, this offseason would be a failure.

It would be one of those "Marty Hurney" type moves where you ignore a position that is clearly a weakness and then expect people to start feeling better about that position because it looks like you don't think it's a weakness.

Nope. Not gonna work.

He drafted a SG in the first round and you say it hasn't been addressed. Your Lance mancrush is making everyone uncomfortable.

Guys stuck on MW being such a terrible signing at $7M are showing they have no idea what they're talking about and proving that "armchair GM" and "jackass" are the same things.

It's tough for me to "feel bad" for a franchise that's had what, three of the last four number one picks when they've basically had ridiculous odds if winning it.

It's also tough to "congratulate" LBJ when he's left Miami for a team with a really good young nucleus.

You can tell which posters have made major investments like buying a house and those who have no idea about market demands.

The market dictates contracts. This is why we gave Hayward a max, MW $7M, and why Lance still hasn't signed. There are a lot of teams with money and more than likely some that would have given MW a contract in the $5/$6M range. It comes to whether or not he is a good fit and if the Hornets wanted him....which apparently they did.

Cho was a genius to you all after the draft and now he's an idiot? You must be the same people pooping all over Gettleman too.

D.J. trashed the organization when he left.

He can kick rocks.

Didn't we all trash the Bobcats at some point? This is the Hornets.

That makes your point?

Um, from the same exact quote you provided...

That was your "point" bursting into flames...

Hahaha....damn it I HATE when I have to agree with Red. Sorry CarolinaSam but you're all over the place on this one and almost entirely wrong.

#2846659 Bosh Returning To Miami

Posted by RoaringRiot on 11 July 2014 - 05:19 PM

If true, Bosh is dumb.

Houston roster would be a favorite with him, Miami well not so much

He seemed to be a better player in Toronto when he was the star. Plus he got p-a-i-d. He's not dumb.

If they lost Bosh it would be one of the most epic collapses in NBA history. I agree that Riley is probably sweating to death. I like Riley, but he seems to always have the fortune of having good players land in his lap....like Phil Jackson.

meh i dont think its snobby i just think when you have experienced flavor explosions in your mouth like none other from microbrews you realize that all of that budweiser, pbr, miller lite you chugged in high school/college is piss water.

but seriously if i'm tailgating i stay away from ipa's because ill black out.

I agree. 2+ years ago I wouldn't drink anything other than Bud Light. Now I can barely drink BL at all. I'm certainly not "educated" enough to be a snob but I do like getting people to try new beers if they're not big into craft.

If drugs are in a car and no one claims possession, there might be an arrest but no charge will stick because it has to be proven whom it belong too. It will be thrown out at a Grand Jury hearing. Key objective, keep your mouth shut. Then too, what if you get into a car and has no knowledge of such illegal items. I'm not defending this kid, I just pray maturation kicks in at some point.

You reading comprehension brah?

You bring me to the office about my son when my son hasnt violated any school rules.

Comparing apples to oranges.

You're making the wrong comparison.

I'm bringing you to the office to tell you your son is running with the wrong crowd and that judging by the pattern of his behaviors he's as close as he possibly can be to fugging up.

Your response is "he hasn't really done anything yet so don't bother me"
