Hadnt seen this yet. Thought it was quite nice.

#2865182 Noah and PJ to have limited roles.

Posted by MedellinHeel on 25 July 2014 - 11:22 PM

It's not even worth arguing with you because you lack the ability to think objectively, yet for some reason I keep trying to make you understand.  It's exhausting.

The fact is, you DON'T "KNOW" that PJ is going to score 15-20 ppg.  Nobody to my knowledge has the ability to see into the future, and PJ hasn't played a single NBA game yet.  I will accept your explanation that it is an educated guess, if you'll back off on your conclusive statements that "PJ should start because he'll get you 15-20 ppg" because frankly, you don't know that.  To this point in PJ's career, we have seen him play well in the ACC, the D-League, and relatively well in the NBA Summer League.  Success in those 3 leagues absolutely does not guarantee success in the NBA, as the level of the competition in the NBA DWARFES those other 3.

Fact is, PJ had moments of brilliance in the summer league, but he also missed a LOT of shots.  He jacked up shots like his life depended on it.  Maybe it's because he felt he needed to carry the team, but that won't be the case during the regular season.  Al & Lance (and sometimes Kemba) will likely carry the scoring load for this team.  Clifford will not allow PJ to take 25 shots a game.

Like I keep saying... I am rooting for PJ!  I really want him to be a solid contributor to this team, but when you've got guys like SuperJ saying things like "He was the best player in the draft" and you're telling me that he's an automatic 15-20ppg player before he even laces it up one time makes it VERY difficult to take anything you say seriously.  Show a little less homerism, and a little more objectivism...it'll add to your credibility.

You still do not understand how to recognize when someone is speaking an opinion and when someone is speaking a fact. Facts are stuff we can measure and see with our eyes. Opinions are not.

When I said PJ would average 15-20ppg that is an opinion as PJ has yet to play in the NBA. Why do I think this? Well PJ if given good minutes will more than likely put up a good amount of shots (Al's double teams, Lance and Kemba kickouts etc). For someone of PJ's shooting ability, 15ppg on a good amount of shots is not very hard.

Now the best player in the draft comment is a bit of a stretch, I am not sure how anyone can rationalize that. Maybe best SG in the draft but def not best player.

Learn to differentiate between opinions and facts and it will add to your credibility.

And p.s. It will not always be obvious as many posters write opinions in ways that at first glance can appear factish. Use your brain and ask yourself is this measurable or can be proven NOW. If the answer is no than it is an opinion.

That mcray guy looking like a top ten pick now.

What's wrong with letting the 18yr old and 21 year old red shirt this year? This team has deep in vet players at each spot and they offer the same skills. PJ needs to work on being a pro, ala his body and off court shaddy stuff. Vonleh is a young man, that needs exp. Both could be solid starters in about 2/3 years if they work hard.

You play the best players period. No matter if they are 18 years old or 35.

#2860385 Some thoughts on Stephenson

Posted by MedellinHeel on 21 July 2014 - 08:31 PM

I gotta admit, my knowledge of Stephenson was rather limited prior to this year / offseason. All I knew was that he was a highly rated prep player who until last year never really lived up to the hype.

The past few days I have watched every Stephenson video on youtube and damn I was quite uninformed. This guy is a complete beast of a SG prospect. His handles, passing, defending, rebounding, finishing through contact, etc is all top notch.

I honestly have a hard time thinking of better SG prospects in the NBA id rather have. Wade and Kobe are aging and have injury concerns.

The only reason this guy doesn't average more points is because he is too unselfish. Stephenson imo can score or get buckets at will with his handle and array of moves. Not to mention creating dimes for other teammates. He was a bit overshadowed in Indy due to West and PG. I feel like here in Cha being a top option, he will average 18-22/5/5.

I am afraid we are gonna be giving this guy a big long term contract in 1-2 years. Which wont be a bad thing imo.

I was quite bummed we did not get Heyward, but now I am almost thinking Stephenson might just be potentially a better player for us overall.

I can not wait to see him and Kemba in the backcourt together.

das it!

#2856182 Dem Lance Highlights.

Posted by MedellinHeel on 17 July 2014 - 09:18 PM

I got to say we are gonna have one hell of a fun team to watch this year.

Kemba / Roberts

Lance / Hendo / Neal

MKG / Taylor / PJ / CDR

Marvin / Zeller / Vonleh

Al / Biz / J.Bach (hopefully)

#2853630 Hornets sign Lance Stephenson to 3yr/27m contract.

I would be IRATE if I were a pacers fan right now.

#2853016 TJ Warren

Posted by MedellinHeel on 15 July 2014 - 09:40 PM

Charlotte already has a pair of starting wings who can't shoot the ball. Warren would've been a terrible fit.

Not quite.

Warren is a straight scorer regardless if he isnt a 3pt shooter. Something we do not have one the wing (not at the SF position anyways).

#2850366 LVSL: Charlotte Hornets (0-1) vs. New York Knicks(2-0)

down by 30 at halftime.....

lol ewing and this roster is a complete joke.

hairston is the only guy who can even remotely score.

#2849857 Hornets sign Brian Roberts

Posted by MedellinHeel on 14 July 2014 - 06:17 AM

I guess some would prefer us not have a true PG on our roster at all? I'm confused by the fuss here. I'm sure if we really want Stephenson we can still find a way to get him.

When it comes to backups you need guys who can

1) score

2) not turn the ball over

#2849789 LVSL: Charlotte Hornets (0-1) vs. Sacramento Kings (0-1)

Vonleh looked a lot better but still his offense needs some work.

hopefully al can teach zeller and vonleh that old school post game

#2849393 Marvin @ $7mil > Deng @ $10mil

Posted by MedellinHeel on 13 July 2014 - 06:09 PM

actually agree with the premise of this thread.

just didnt need to add the extra incendiary jabs.

#2848620 Hornets Sign Marvin Williams

Posted by MedellinHeel on 13 July 2014 - 05:27 AM

I do not think Hendo makes for a good 6th man.

You need quick production from your bench.

Hendo is not a shooter (so no getting hot from downtown).

Hendo is not really a scorer. Usually takes all game to get his 12-16 points.

He needs to be dealt imo.

#2848391 Hornets Sign Marvin Williams

Posted by MedellinHeel on 12 July 2014 - 09:22 PM

Marvin is considerably better offensively than Mcribs. Not near the passer though.

If Mcribs can get 5-6 mil than I suppose Marvin would command 6-7.

A bit too much for my liking though. Wish we had an option on that 2nd year.

#2847188 Vonleh observation / concern

Posted by MedellinHeel on 11 July 2014 - 09:39 PM

Who are some examples of players (bigs) who were slow, sluggish, and lacked instincts that developed them later?

I am not sure this is something that develops like post moves, jumpers, handles, IQ, etc.
