I typed out a long comparison of Smith and McRoberts, but then my laptop crashed and I lost it. Take a look at their stats and tell me who you think is better. I may retype my comparison after I finish up my last class tonight.
Josh Smith is literally the opposite of a stretch four. He is a historically bad 3 point shooter, yet he continues to chuck them like he can make them. Contracts aside, I would rather have Marvin than Josh Smith. He fits what we want to do, and isn't a chucker.
Take a look at his stats from last year:
26% 3P% on 3.4 shots per game. 26% is legendarily bad for someone who took 265 three pointers in a season.
I'll sob if we do this, though I'm sure this is 100% speculation by the author.
His deal is absolute poo, he is under contract through 2017-18 at $13.5 million per. That is the same yearly salary as Jefferson. It would annihilate our cap space for the next three years for a player I wouldn't want at $6 million per.
