Go look at the roster of that Andrew Bynum Philly team that Hinkie decimated and the similarities to this one are striking. You can understand why Philly fans are so adamant about the tank.

We have a nice young piece (MKG) and good flexibility after next season. I'm not really, sure what I want us to do, I just know I never want to watch Jefferson and Marvin play basketball again.

It sucks really, but MKG has the work ethic to make this work.

According to all of the advanced metrics and analytics, Bismack Biyombo was the #1 rim protector in the entire NBA last season.

He also played somewhere around 20 minutes per game against backups. Context and sample size are always good when using stats.

Calipari is one of the most absolutely loyal coaches in the nation. When he isn't coachching college games he goes to NBA games that feature his former players (which a lot of teams have a former prospect of his). He is what he is, he develops good pro prospects while getting very little time out of them. He never throws his players out to dry (like coach k did with Josh McRoberts for example).

Recruiting violations are idiotic regardless, and people hate his players for some reason. Just appreciate how good he is at getting talent out of kids for just one season. Why do you think they all go to his teams?

I don't like defending Calipari but I find myself doing it a lot because everyone illogically hates him.

MKG is the only reason I still watch. The rest of the team does little besides piss me off.

He can be, he's still really young and hasn't been playing organized basketball that long either.

Personally, I don't see it. He is done with his rookie deal and has shown very little improvement. He can barely catch an entry pass most of the time. I'm fine with retaining him, but I don't think he's the center for the future.

Yeah the SEC has one great team (Kentucky), one team that is usually very good (Florida) and a bunch of nothing.

In the NCAA tourney:
Florida is 13-4 since 2010
Kentucky is 18-3 since 2010
The rest of the SEC is 8-11 since 2010

ND probably should have lost too. Bad coaching down the stretch from NE. That lost the game for them and they could have won.

Yeah if they would've gotten a good look on their last possession they could've easily won. Oklahoma better watch out tomorrow.

What's worse? Being a Hornets fan and being frustrated with the erratic play and going from 7-10 and then back to 7 on any given night, or being a Thunder fan and seeing them with a superstar putting up triple doubles nearly every night and still in danger of being on the outside looking in?

Hornets fan easily. The Thunder franchise doesn't hold the NBA record for worst season (which will never be broken in an 82 game season).

And even if it's only right now, they at least get to enjoy watching two of the best in the game play for their team. We get this.

But really, what on earth awoke the Celtics?

They dumped 2 disgruntled players and traded for Isiah Thomas, while the Nets basically gave up on the playoffs. They're well coached, and that's pretty much enough in the east.

Stay away from Jim Fox. We've already been spurned many times before and now that we have a guy that knows what he's doing I'd like for him to be able to at least see his project through before he moves on.

My two cents: Charlotte doesn't need a guy that is a name or a guy that wins the press conference and for the task at hand they probably aren't going to pluck guys like Young from Wofford or Hurley from Buffalo that have been to the Dance and either are content where they are (Young) or probably looking at BCS offers.

What Charlotte needs is to pluck a young, longtime assistant from a proven coach that is looking for an opportunity and willing to work hard to change the culture. From what little I know about Charlotte hoops, it seems the problem hasn't been talent, but the x's and o's. Get the young assistant who can teach players and get them to buy in to a winning style of basketball.

Jim Fox, longtime assistant to Bob McKillop, was handed a stripped down roster of a team that won five Division I games the previous season in the Southern Conference. In one shortened recruiting season he brought some young players in, taught them "Davidson" basketball, and proceeded to win 12 games this year with 8 wins in a better Sun Belt conference including an ACC win (VT) and a near SEC win (Bama) both on the road. All of this with NCAA sanctions on practice times and no eligibility for the postseason thanks to the mistake that was the Jason Capel era.

Charlotte doesn't have nearly the level of those issues, obviously, but that's an example of what hiring the right guy for your basketball team can do in a short amount of time. I'm sure there are plenty of eager assistants looking for an opportunity.

Not to hijack this thread but every time I think of App State basketball I remember how hilarious this was to witness live

You guys kill me with the comments crapping on Kemba. You do realize he just got back from surgery? Most of you guys would probably be whining if you had to walk up stairs at this point, and Kemba is out there guarding professional athletes.Give the dude some slack.

And they make it sound like he had a bad game. He almost had a triple double in 28 minutes.
