#2900985 Rumors the Hornets might be interested in Josh Smith

Posted by Omega Atrocity on Yesterday, 10:49 AM

Josh Smith is literally the opposite of a stretch four. He is a historically bad 3 point shooter, yet he continues to chuck them like he can make them. Contracts aside, I would rather have Marvin than Josh Smith. He fits what we want to do, and isn't a chucker.

Take a look at his stats from last year:

26% 3P% on 3.4 shots per game. 26% is legendarily bad for someone who took 265 three pointers in a season.

#2883603 Give your end of season seedings

Posted by Omega Atrocity on 09 August 2014 - 10:22 AM

There are only three divisions, not four.

You acknowledged CHI and CLE were in the same division but put them in back to back seeds again...

I thought NBA gave all three divisions winners a top four seed but not a top three seed, so if Chicago and Cleveland had the two best records they would be 1-2 with the other two division winners taking 3-4. Was I have wrong?

Goondal is right there. Division winners are guaranteed 4 seed at worst.

I thought DeCoud looked good making up for Godfrey getting burned a couple of times early. Anderson looked pretty good too, I'm glad we have a decent backup.

#2880133 Love traded to CLE for Wiggins, Bennett, Pick

Irving

Waiters

James

Love

Varejao

That's 4 players that really need the ball in their hands a lot, with 1 awful defender in Irving, 1 sub-par defender in Love, and 1 incredibly uncaring defender in Waiters. James is a solid defender, and Varejao is a pretty good defensive center with a lot of injury history. I honestly don't see this lineup being a 100% win.

I've been stung by different nests like 4 times this year while mowing. This is a terrible year for them.

When in the fuging hell did gay get brought into this?  Are you sober?

Drake sucks but, that has nothing to do with gay.

Here's a sample of "My" music.  Doesn't make me gay or straight.  You are wound too tight.  <Insert STRIPES Lighten Up Francis Gif Here>.

Obviously me and you both like the Panthers while neither of us actually like Drake (one of us are lying to ourselves).

Drake can kiss these asses in no particular order because POP is just that, no particular order.  It's all mindless poo we like for 2 weeks and then it goes away.

If Minnesota is actually declining that offer they deserve to lose Love for nothing.

I would definitely trade Hendo for a backup SF like Brewer.

#2857394 How Hornets matchup against Top Teams in East

Posted by Omega Atrocity on 18 July 2014 - 08:01 PM

I consider myself to be pretty realistic when it comes to looking at NBA players, and Kyrie isn't that much better, if any, than Kemba. Can he score slightly better? He sure can. That's the only facet of the game where he is better, he certainly isn't the superstar player some claim him to be.

More fun with advanced metrics. Here is Kyrie's and Charlotte's PG's defensive real plus minus, which measures defensive impact per 100 possessions.

10. Kemba Walker: 0.79

64. Luke Ridnour: -2.76

66. Jannero Pargo: -2.84

72. Kyrie Irving: -3.38

That rank is only among PG's.

#2856229 What team in the East is deeper than we are?

Posted by Omega Atrocity on 17 July 2014 - 09:56 PM

On paper our bench looks good but it still has a lot of question marks.

Three guys I'm not worried about are Roberts, Neal and Henderson.

As for the other guys...

- Can Hairston prove to be a viable option of the bench and can he handle NBA pressure (he's been turning the ball over a lot in SL)?
- Can Zeller make the jump and be a valuable scorer?
- Biyombo, has he developed on offensive game yet or is forever a defensive specialist?
- Will Jeff Taylor be able to come back and still have a significant impact after that Achilles injury?
- As for Vonleh, I'm not expecting much this year, 7/3 sounds reasonable for the youngster. He still has a lot to learn.

Regarding our starters, I really like how we look in the backcourt with Lamba (my name for Lance and Kemba). I also hope that Marvin can at least prove to be as good offensively as McBob. However, at the end of the day I think our ultimate success is dependent on MKG. If MKG has developed even the slightest resemblance of a jumper then I think we can be a dangerous team.

Nonetheless, we still have question marks just like every other team.

I think we could use one more proven big. If we can get another big that has some true offensive skills then I think we'll be good to go.

Pie for Lamba

I'm still fuging pumped from the Stephenson signing. Lowe did a good job with this article too, he is one of few sports journalists I like.

Let's win this thing and then put the trophy in a trophy case outside the arena hahaha.

We can hang up a 2014 summer league championship banner inside the arena!

Man, thumping a NOLA team is one of my absolute favorite things, no matter the circumstances.
