#3324784 Hornets officially locked into 9th worst record

Posted by Omega Atrocity on 17 April 2015 - 12:18 PM

Just throwing this out there. Would this be a good draft to use our pick as trade bait to unload Al's and/or Lance's contract for an expiring? Cho can work out some trades and perhaps cap relief would help this team more than another rookie.

That's a complete waste of an asset. Lance and Al have one more year left, no reason to attach value to dump them.

Jordan Hill and Ryan Kelly outside the locker room. Got my jacket signed and I let my beat friend keep the basketball

That's really cool man. Not many people get to do something like that.

Harris' 19% 3 point percentage, 2 years, $3.1 million > Stephenson's 17% 3 point percentage, 3 years, $27 million.

Worst 3 point shooting season in NBA history, I hope Lance enjoys that honor it will be a while before that is rivaled I bet.

Speaking of, at some point I am going to post a by-the-numbers stat analysis thread for this season. Probably tomorrow or Friday. My research hasn't went well for us unfortunately....

Garry Harris, from Michigan St. was the SG some on here wanted.. but he fell to the end of the 1st before someone took him- so yeah i think Vonleh was the obvious choice IMO

Fun stat: Harris had the 3rd worst three point percentage in NBA history this season.

Hopefully justise will be served... Anyone think winslow can play the 2 in the nba? 4 guys need to be upgraded before we replace mkg in the starting line up.

The 2 and 3 in the NBA are pretty much interchangeable, especially with mkg's ability to guard 4 positions. Winslow and MKG would be a pretty nasty wing combo.

Whole tournament had some pretty piss poor officiating. Reminded me why I only watch the NCAA tourney for college basketball.

#3316443 We're getting smoked. Game thread.

Well the franchise has managed to kill all goodwill built up by last seasons team and the rebrand. They are now back to being about as interesting to watch as they were under Mike Dunlap. The rebuild was botched when we started overpaying for mid level players like Stephenson and Jefferson. That's a path to a perpetual 6-7-8 seed at best and a first round playoff loss. Throw in some untimely injuries, extremely questionable coaching and waning motivation and you have the trainwreck that is this years Charlotte Hornets.

The team was honestly more entertaining to watch under Dunlap than we have been lately. At least he had us doing more than taking pull up long 2s 75% of the time.

#3316441 Cut Steve Clifford A Little Slack

Posted by Omega Atrocity on 09 April 2015 - 01:39 AM

Clifford doesn't get a pass. Sure, I doubt another coach could squeeze many more wins out of this team, but that doesn't absolve him from doing poorly.

His offensive "system" is garbage isolation with half hearted pick and roll. Seriously, all we do is clear out at the top for one of our two point guards and the bigs will set a pick with little success which will lead to an off the dribble chuck by Kemba/Mo or a big Al black hole session. And don't even get me started on the 2 inbounds plays that we have.

Beyond that his rotations are trash. If a player gets hot and starts to carry us offensively he is taken out and not put back in until his given time (see Hendo against Miami). He plays Roberts over Daniels (at 2 guard, which is insane) and Maxiell over Vonleh. There's no defending that crap.

There's no way we fire him so soon, but it would be 100% justifiable imo.

#3315536 We're officially tanking it out

He's a nice piece to the puzzle, but he is no star player, much less have the superstar potential Davis has.

He doesn't have tho same potential as Davis, but there's no one else from that draft that was avaliable at 2 that I'd rather have.

Not really. There's no way we catch anyone by losing out, we're already as low as were gonna get.

#3312561 Root for the Warriors to win the ring, why?

Posted by Omega Atrocity on 05 April 2015 - 11:51 AM

Rooting for the Warriors because I like Steph and really just enjoy watching the Dubs play basketball.

#3309327 Who would you want as a replacement for Clifford?

Posted by Omega Atrocity on 01 April 2015 - 09:02 PM

Definitley not Mark Jackson. Some college coach/young assistant that accepts how much the game is progressing. Mark Jackson is another Clifford, as would any other old school type guy we get.

#3305912 Who's Your Choice?

Posted by Omega Atrocity on 30 March 2015 - 05:43 PM

Can you give me Klay and Lillard's stats. I just wanna see it since those guys are both from small competition as well.

I know some of you guys are being thrown off by Hunter based on where he is from but some of the better guys come from small schools.

Hunter was heavily recruited by plenty of school. He went to Georgia State bc of his dad.

Thompson went to Washington State, that's hardly a small school. They play in the Pac-12
