Will Cain seems to be the adult in the room

You mean the guy who said that it isn't about allowing people to discriminate, its about should someone who owns a business that deal with weddings have to accept paying customers that are gay & having a wedding?

Heh. When I was at Ft Campbell, someone saw pics of our urban warfare training buildings & outraged because it was obvious training for assaulting America due to the fact that the buildings looked like ours & not the Koreans'.

What rights were at stake? There is no right to a job. There is no right to guaranteed service. There is no right to not be offended. There is no right to live our lives without discomfort.

Yet she has the right to own a business, be offended by my choice of a spouse, & refuse to sell me gas because doing so would make her uncomfortable... sure you wanna go with that?

Come to think of it... what right was at stake for her?

Did the law require that she or her company purchase goods/services from you/your company?

If so, how is that freedom?

No. It required her to sell me gas even though she didn't approve of race mixin'.

If she or her company was made to purchase goods/services against their will, their rights were violated to grant favor to a protected class of person. So you tell me. If this is the case, why do you feel that your rights outweigh hers?

That wasn't the case. I was paying her for goods that she provided for sale.

So..... your entire career and everything you worked for has only one opportunity that is through a bigot? Just curious... how did those negotiations go?

Luckily I didn't have to find out as her refusing me goods based on her bigotry was illegal... & the negotiations went great.

Now why do you feel her rights outweigh mine?

You have the right to not buy your gas from her in the future. In fact, you should have given her a nice posting on FB to let other travelers know that they should exercise their rights as well, by passing her gas station. and shop at a more people friendly establishment. i expect the gov to protect people's religious and free speech rights. Not dictate thoughts. Its the peoples responsibility to hold their neighbors to a higher standard through encouragement and example.

I won't be buying gas from her again, hell I put the chips back, & since it was a regular stop among us Rennies at the time I did post it on FB. Perhaps I did cause some harm to her business, but if it had not been illegal, she WOULD have caused harm to my business. This isn't about dictating thought, its about protecting rights. Now do you want to take a shot at answering the question of why their rights should outweigh mine?
