#3291016 Panthers met with Miami OT Ereck Flowers

Posted by TheNewStandard on 19 March 2015 - 01:24 PM

I think I'll take it as confidence. But I'm biased as a Hurricane myself. And if we draft him I'd be very happy. And if we don't then he was a cocky basterd. ;)

Dormer U players are never shy when discussing their college, that's for sure. Big family of professional Pro players and highly represented in the HOF as well.

#3290833 GettleMagic - Son Of A Rich Man.

This may be the dumbest saying I've ever heard. Some of the most worthless people I've ever known were rich spoiled brats. In fact, this saying sounds like something they'd say.

lulz...I have to totally agree with you. OP...woah

#3290825 Dallas Sportscaster blasts Cowboys for signing Hardy

Posted by TheNewStandard on 19 March 2015 - 11:33 AM

Hardy just got involved with a girl and they had a toxic relationship. hopefully Greg will make better decisions in his personal life.

Up until this incident, he was just Hardy, the football player. I don't hear the denigration and character assassinations flying around about all the other players that have been suspended for one reason or the other...I guess it shows how much of a high profile player he is.

well, we signed a press cb, so cb moves down on the needs list.

#3288824 Ultra early power rankings from NFL.com

Posted by TheNewStandard on 17 March 2015 - 10:23 PM

As I said, it is ultra early and you don't have to beat a dead horse. Having said that, teams I don't think should be ahead of us are the Texans at 14, the Chiefs at 9. However we remain top dog in the NFCS.

not sure why so many people are counting out Fozzy as our #2 back. an argument could be made that he was more effective than DLo last year.

he's got a great running style and always looks like he's running downhill. I know blocking is a big part of RB duties, but that can be ingrained by coaching and more reps in practice.

we need depth all over the roster and could stand to get a few starters out of the draft...namely WR, CB, T, S and OLB. I'm hoping for at least 3 legitimate rookie starters out of the draft. that would've a huge boost and upgrades to a team that was riddled by injuries and inconsistent play throughout the season.

we went 12-4 after signing Ginn and Mitchell

but that isn't exactly what you would call a spree

#3285586 Ray Drew DE/DT UGA

Position: DE Pos2: DT
Class/Draft Year: Sr/2015z
40 Time: 4.79 40 Low: 4.68 40 High: 4.90

Projected Round: 5 S

Mobile Combo DL Good sideline to sideline speed. Quick first step with jab, strong bull rush, solid at point of attack. Good balance and quick feet. once disengaged has good speed to chase down QBs and smothers. Smothers running backs on contact. began Cleve as an OLB but rebut his body and started 13 games totalling 6.5 sacks and 11,5 TFL. Still raw but talent is there and passes the eye test. Wide and balanced body. locks up ball carriers and smothers without arm tackling at point of contact. fit with no injury history. mainly DE in a 3-4 but excels at DT in 4-3. High motor and finishes through whistle. Good center of gravity, excellent lower body strength but needs to improve arm strength as he is prone to getting locked-up and must develop better swim move and uppercut without opening up hips. Needs to improve lateral slide-step without opening hips to drive through double teams. Stays on feet and not prone to getting bent backwards. Definitely worth a 5th round pick and shows great promise for improvement and is coachabke as he worked over 2 years just to earn starting spot, transforming his body from OLB to DE at UGA. Has great Shot at making roster and is a student dedicated to improving. good chip on shoulder.

#3281593 Raiders in discussions with Greg Hardy

Posted by TheNewStandard on 13 March 2015 - 12:36 AM

Greg fits right in with Raider nation, he'll probably have his own reality show within 3 years.

I'll miss his play and fun antics/personality.

sucks

#3281445 Shockey, Olsen and Tolbert.. Why did we get away from getting those level of...

Posted by TheNewStandard on 12 March 2015 - 09:45 PM

Re: fakeplastictrees

I hear you and yes, there have been solid guys in FA. this was actually one of the deepest FA pools in recent memory. lots of players resigned with their own clubs and that took out a huge chunk of the top-level pool.

as far as us being a sun-500 team last year, you need to look no further than our injury list on a week to week basis and the loss of Hardy and his main backup Frank Alexander. those were huge losses and put a ton of pressure on our young backups and the patchwork secondary that we were expecting our front 7 to cover for.

Now look at the offense. I mean, we had 1 returning starting offensive lineman that played the same position the year before. it's been gone over so many times about how the OL FA market was basically void of any solid talent within our budget, so as Getts stated...the answer was on our roster...sorta.

Cam missed basically all of the OTAs and training cap all while we had zero returning WR which killed any chemistry that could have been developed.

injuries...Trai, Tolbert, Stewart and Williams all missed considerable time and that hurt us as well.
thankfully, we had a masterful draft class that came together in time for the final playoff push and no FA we signed played any kind of positive impact compared to those draftees.

so, the 13 mil that went to Hardy may have handicapped us from taking some better talent, but I guarantee you had Hardy played the entire year, no amount of FA would have had as much of an impact as his 14+ sacks and run stopping ability would have had for us.

and here we are, conference winners with a playoff victory and a basic reset button for the rest of the teams in our league to try and figure out how to compete against this Panther team that lost virtually no one besides a mostly hurt deangelo Williams and had begun to plug it's obvious holes without losing any stars and a full barrel of draft picks to take BPA.

our super bowl window has the blinds pulled up and we are on the comfy cozy couch, inside looking out laughing at the chaos ensuing within our division, holding the keys with Luke and CPI safeguarding our house.

#3278715 How is it that we never have enough cap space?

space...the final frontier...

#3278698 Greg Hardy Could Receive A One Or Two-Game Suspension

Posted by TheNewStandard on 11 March 2015 - 11:32 PM

losing a top-3 DE hurts bad.

Bye bye Monsters Incorporated. please go somewhere out of conference.

i can only imagine all the fans that wanted to let you walk, just to come back and see you rip-shred through our line to get after Cam.

bet that would shut up the peanut gallery from questioning why we tried to keep you here.

#3276366 Celebrate the Saints demise here

Posted by TheNewStandard on 11 March 2015 - 12:13 AM

we beat them so bad the past couple years, I got nothing for them but paper bags and misspelled English words on poster boards supposed to make food that looks like throw up seem cool.

#3275989 Which Panther becomes CONSENSUS elite this season?
