#3259171 Panthers Mock Draft Rounds 1 - 3

Posted by TheNewStandard on 01 March 2015 - 10:08 PM

too many people here are looking at O'Leary as a TE. He's a fullback hybrid TE with great hands and a knack for scoring in the red zone.

I've also heard people say he benefitted from a good QB...well what the heck kinda QB do we have?

Tolbert - 5'9" 240 (more closer to 280) fat and old
cap savings 2.4 million
o'Leaty - 6'3 250 not fat, not old
which one do you think has a better chance at picking up a blitz or catching a screen pass?

I'll break my TV if we pick O'Leary in the 3rd round.

I'm not sure that you see the real value of picking up O'leary. he's basically a full back that can line up in the backfield, chip block, protect Cams blind side on blitzes, set up screens, run on short down yardage, keep Olson on the line out of the backfield, catch screen passes and slide out on bootlegs in the red zone.

that is quite a bit of value

#3251892 Public Service Announcement: Pushover GM vs. Results GM

Posted by TheNewStandard on 23 February 2015 - 09:39 PM

this organizations push for pink shows how important backing their players and the good of the fellow population speaks volumes.

there's no telling about what really happened, I know when my brother passed away my job told me to take all the time I needed to deal with it. I didn't expect any of them to be at the funeral, I was fine with their condolences.

family and tragedy brings out lots of emotions and maybe Deangelo didn't or hasn't had the time to properly deal with things and his release is just adding to the hurt.

we're all sorry Deangelo. Im sorry you've had to go through this.

#3251855 So lets be real, its a given Ginn is going to be back right?... RIGHT?!?

Posted by TheNewStandard on 23 February 2015 - 09:29 PM

if Gettles covets Eddie Royal more than Ginn....

that's about the only reason I can't see this happening.

#3250536 Shaq Thompson In The First?

Posted by TheNewStandard on 23 February 2015 - 11:14 AM

this kid can ball. he's got "it" and has the balance and speed to play wherever we need him. like Jeremy said. the guy is a football player and he and Davis are like two peas in a pod.

definitely want!!!

#3249972 Shaq Thomspon, possible safety project?

Posted by TheNewStandard on 22 February 2015 - 05:37 PM

this is the guy I want in the first. Immediately improves special teams, run support and Is that center fielder that has the speed to bust through screen passes.

he is basically the only player that makes sense for us if La'el is off the board...and honestly, I still might take him even if La'el is still there.

#3249533 Vic Beasley

Posted by TheNewStandard on 22 February 2015 - 12:22 PM

Vic was pro ready as a sophomore. He is more suited as a Sam LB. He's not a DE in any set.

for those that think he will fall to us because of that fact are dreaming...but there's nothing wrong with dreaming.

Thomas Davis was a safety coming out of college.

if Atlanta gets Beasley and goes after GHardy we are toast. Byron Bell and a back against those two...forget it.

the Bears are looking DT and Vic won't fall past the Falcons.

We have to re-sign Hardy. This is the same situation that we went through with Charles Johnson.

#3248771 Jameis Winston's football IQ compared to Peyton Manning's, report says.

Posted by TheNewStandard on 21 February 2015 - 06:12 PM

Some people though Ryan Leaf was better than Manning too....

Winston may have some football smarts....he doesn't have a lot of good ones of the field. Kinda like Leaf

it doesn't even seem like anyone cares about his off the field decisions. a kid being a dumb kid but it has nothing to do about his on the field play. he's fearless as they come and was born to be a franchise QB. and ..it's obvious. the kid has got the goods. he has roethlesbergers elusiveness/toughness, leadership traits off the charts, has zero memory when it comes to moving on past bad throws and Ints and is a proven winner.

#3247977 2014 Chaos, 2015 Hope?

Posted by TheNewStandard on 20 February 2015 - 05:49 PM

keeping the Kraken, locking in Cam, signing a vet LT as a stop gap until we can get a franchise OT, drafting a 1st round safety if Vic Beasley isn't still on the board. drafting a #2 receiver, cutting Deangelo and Tolbert. restructuring CJ. signing Eddie Royal or Ted Ginn and getting a new special teams coach.

#3247566 NFL Combine Thread - Offensive Line

Posted by TheNewStandard on 20 February 2015 - 12:35 PM

Chaz Green looked great. superb footwork and fluid hips.

#3244812 Time to cut DeAngelo Williams.

Posted by TheNewStandard on 17 February 2015 - 05:19 PM

DLo deserves a lot of high praise for all he has meant to the organization and for promoting breast cancer awareness. he's been our most consistent RB since day 1 and has always stayed positive despite the circumstances. First class all the way.

#3242268 Panthers re-signed OL Chris Scott

Posted by TheNewStandard on 14 February 2015 - 07:23 PM

is he the guy dancing in the background of Cams yogurt commercial?

#3241613 Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?

Posted by TheNewStandard on 13 February 2015 - 11:02 PM

We let one walk before who was squeaky clean before....

We definately can do it with one we can't trust given that fact.

peppers took plays off and was suspect at stopping the rush. he didn't want to be here either.

#3241358 League files motion for Hardy's evidence

Posted by TheNewStandard on 13 February 2015 - 06:52 PM

hardy's lawyer can file an injunction as a players personal life is no business of any other party unless he allows it.

charges were dropped without bias. that should be the end of it.
