In Topic: Trai Turner= This year's Larry Warford?

Larry Warford, was that stud from Kentucky.. he was a massive run blocking OG that wasn't very athletic, but you couldn't move him.  Ideally fit for a power run scheme.  I wanted him in the 2nd round last year.  Trai Turner is more athletic, and not as strong as Larry.

If I was Rodger Goodell I would make a minor league for the NFL. Not only would it bring in money but it would help develop players. Also it would create more job opportunities in the NFL.

That's what NFL Europe was before it folded.  Kurt Warner, Adam Viniteri, Jake Delhomme came out of NFL Europe.  I agree with you that they should bring NFL-minor league stateside though.  We are missing some great stories, like the one's mentioned above.

In Topic: Evan Silva of Rotoworld likes Carolina's draft

I hope he starts.  With our offense being similar to LSU's, he should start.  We may be lucky and have a starter with our 3rd round pick from day 1.  Chances are, we won't have 2 starters day 1 though.  KB seems a little slow, and don't know if he will be able to absorb the playbook quickly enough to be a day 1 starter.  We may just sub him in for redzone plays in the beginning.

Who is going to beat him out?

DG said that he was drafted in part due to the injuries to Silatolu and Kugbilla (but he did note that Silatolu was further on).

Literally the only thing that Kugbilla has on Turner is having the playbook down (hopefully). Other than that those two guys are on equal terms.

Chris Scott is the only other guy with experience and after he returned from injury he lost his job to Nate Chandler.

Trai Turner is in the drivers seat to be a day one starter.

Starter.  I am talking about day 1 starters.  Game 1 of the year.  Chances are he will not be the starter on Day 1.  I guess that assumes that Kelvin will be a day 1 starter... maybe Turner will be a starter, and KB will take a while to develop.  Who knows?  But if there are only 30 rookie starters day 1, then odds are against a 3rd round pick of starting.

Immediate impact or immediate starter?

Because odds are in his favor of becoming an immediate starter.
