#3255289 Dolphins Trying To Trade Mike Wallace

Posted by SteveSmithTD89 on Yesterday, 01:09 PM

I'd welcome him right aboard.

Let him meet with TD, Luke, Cam, Greg.  If they feel he could fit in then by all means sign him up.  He was a stud in Pitt.

He's playing with someone whos deep ball rivals that of jimmy Clausen and he's a deep ball receiver.  He absolutely torched us when we played them in 2013.  If Tannehill could throw the ball with some zip more than 20 yards down the field he A) would have had at least two more TDs and B) would have beat us and cost us our NFC South title.

edit: As a FA signing if hes cut.  No way am I touching his current contract.

#3254298 Michael Oher Visits Panthers

Oher on a one year contract at LT.

Fisher in the 2nd.

I'd be content.

#3250709 Better know a Prospect - Jake Fisher

Posted by SteveSmithTD89 on 23 February 2015 - 01:05 PM

Right now, Fisher and Jaelen Strong are 1a and 1b on my wish list at #25.  I'm leaning slightly toward Fisher just because I think a legit LT would be a HUGE difference maker for our team.  But, I think Strong is a Dez Bryant clone, so I'd be just fine with that too.

Those were who I wanted in 1 and 2.

Strong in the 1st

Fisher in the 2nd.

Rest of the draft would just be gravy.

Now I don't know that either of those two will be available at 25.

#3246735 Mayock lists his six prospects the Panthers will target in the 2015 NFL Draft

Shaq Thompson PLEASE!!!!!!

We only play with two LBs most of the time anyways.  As a tweener he could develop into a Kam Chancellor or Thomas Davis type player.

And good lord if he ever got a pick.  He's the type of guy who would truck the QB if they got in his way.

#3240353 Bucky Brooks gives the Panthers an A-

Can't believe the Browns drafted Johnny Football over Carr.

And Bridgewater

And every other QB not named Blake Bortles (lol Jags) in the draft.

#3233974 We won! Thank you huddle for your support.

#3224037 Questions No Panther Fan Can Answer

Posted by SteveSmithTD89 on 30 January 2015 - 10:08 AM

1. What rival NFC South team would you rather win the Superbowl:

Falcons- so we would be the only one remaining without a Lombardi?

Bucs- so they could boast as the only one with 2? They're still the bucs.  Can't hate them and their 8 fans.

Saints- ugh.. the Saints and their fans.. ugggggggghhhhhhh?

2. Which retired Panther QB would you rather have come in to replace Cam/DA for the 2015 season- Weinke or Peete? Weinke.  At least I'd giggle like a girl every time the announcers said his name as I destroy my liver.

3. Would you rather let history stay the same and have Kasay kick the ball out of bounds and set the PAts up at the 40 or change history and have him kick a touchback and the Pats still drive down the field for the winning FG? Leave it as is.  At least we have a scapegoat

4. Would you rather erase X-Clown from your memory or erase your first time you made sweet love? The first time?  poo was awkward as hell.  Nobody knows what they're doing.  Give me XCLOWN

5. Would you rather Clausen still be our starting QB or Matt Moore or David Carr?  MATT MOORE FOR LIFE BRO!!!!! HES THE ANSWER!!!!

6. Would you rather the Panthers win a Superbowl knowing you would die from a heart attack caused by all the excitement or live a healthy life of going .500 or under for the rest of your life?  Superbowl.  I like to live life on the edge.

7. In 2014, Would you rather have replaced Smitty/Ginn/Lafell with Josh Gordon or replaced D.Will/Stew/Tolbert with Ray Rice?  Replace Smitty/Ginn/Lafell.  Its not like their replacements did much anyways.  Having Gordon for a game would have been fun.

8. Would you rather suffer through the 1-15 season again (where we were in a lot of games but cudnt finish) or the 2-14 season again (where is was obvious we weren't going to win a lot of those games before the 1st qtr was over)?  I'm too young to remember the 1-15 season but I wouldn't wish the 2-14 season on my worst enemies.  Well except the Seahawks... and the Saints.... and the Falcons... and the Patriots.  Ok maybe I would.

9. Would you rather have the Superbowl 38 ended the way it did or have the chance to get the ball back after the Vinatieri FG and have Jake throw an INT as we are driving down the field? Jake throw a pick.  Lets go down swinging.

10. Would you rather Thomas Davis had called it quits after his 3rd ACL tear and never came back or Jake never had come back from Tommy Jone* surgery? Jake not come back.  I love them both but Davis has embodied the "Keep Pounding" motto and him hanging it up would take away from his legend... Jake wasn't all pro quality when he came back like TD has been.

11. Would you rather John Fox/Pickles stays an extra year of sucking and we get to draft Luck OR Peppers stays and retires a Panther Great but we never draft Cam? Give me Luck.  Peppers was great for us but missing on both Luck and Cam?  No.  Just No.

12. O-coordinator to replace Shula in 2015: Jeff Davidson or Dan Henning? Dan Henning.

13. You have to bet everything your own on one of these things happening:

A. Biakabutuka staying healthy for a whole season

B. Byron Bell blocking Peppers so David Carr to complete a pass to Kerry Colbert 3x in a row

C. Fua tackling Cam in the open field

C.  Cam could trip right?  Hes not the most mobile right now.  I'll take my chances.

#3223163 Some FA targets

Posted by SteveSmithTD89 on 29 January 2015 - 10:01 AM

Ignoring the high priced guys who we are very unlikely to acquire due to cost - wide receivers like Thomas, Bryant or Wallace, there are other guys who didn't have a big year or were on IR and might be bargains. Guys like Jeremy Maclin, Cecil Short, Jermaine Kearse, or even the often mentioned Hakeem Nicks. My favorite if he is available is Dwayne Harris who would fill the slot role but more importantly be our punt returner. But then again as an ECU fan you can understand the attraction. This assumes that the big names test free agency so these guys don't climb up in cost and are no longer bargains which is what Gettleman seems to go for. We need 1 or 2 wide receivers to replace Avant and compete with Bersin which shouldn't be too hard. Then pick up someone in the draft who could be a slot guy and our returner. Unless folks want to see Ginn back if he is released.

We need an upgrade at strong safety with cover skills.Maybe guys like Searcy, Rahim Moore, Rolle, or Merriweather. Truth is that compared to other positions safety is a smaller lost and there may be a scramble at safety and corner as there are a bunch of teams even some in our division with suspect secondaries.

I'm gonna have to stop you right there.  No way Maclin doesn't command a top dollar contract.

Kearse probably looking at LaFell money at the very least (3 mil a year) Someone will likely pay that.  While his stats aren't the best playing in Seatle's ground and pound offense with few throws and a QB who does a good job spreading the ball limit his statistical impact.

if he has a big superbowl then watch out.  Some team will think hes the next Golden Tate and throw a bigger contract at him (I'm looking at you Oakland)

Nicks would be decent if Value were there.

Ginn would be welcomed back with open arms.  Ughhh a returner who can actually return.

Harris and Torrey Smith are dream duo.

Any reason you're being a dick about it? Guy works hard on these.

If you don't need to watch you don't need to comment

Torrey Smith and Byron Baluga would make me a very happy man.

#3204714 yes, we signed Hill

Posted by SteveSmithTD89 on 14 January 2015 - 12:36 PM

Says a lot that he stayed on Practice squad while, Bersin, and Webb were on the active roster as WRs.

Whats it say about or coaching staff that Norwell sat on the bench half the season behind Amini, Norman behind Cason and white, Philly behind Avant and Cotch, Colin Jones and Boston (albeit injured) behind Decoud, etc

But... to be fair... It also says a lot about Hill that nobody else claimed him when he was a) waived and B) sitting on our PS all season.

I'm not getting my hopes up.  Cautiously optimistic.

#3202980 Sounds like Bell is gone....

Posted by SteveSmithTD89 on 13 January 2015 - 12:17 PM

Who are you talking about? Thomas Davis?

If anything, I think his contract will be restructured. Don't think he gets cut, he still has the all-important "speed" element.

Thats very true.  And I certainly hope he leaves on his terms when hes ready.  An extension/restructure would be nice but he is 32.  And has a cap hit of 7 mil.

Have to think with the extension he'd get some guaranteed money.  Does Dave really want to offer a guaranteed contract to a 32 year old LB with 3 ACL tears...

Thats where my fear comes from.  Its all business to Dave.  Hurney would have given him a key to the city by now and rightfully so but this is DG's team now.
