#1920542 Need sign ideas....going to the Falcons game, got front row seats....To be se...

Here is a crazy idea: How about a sign that supports OUR team, rather than one that makes crappy jokes about a team that is 3-0

Seriously, we just had a terrible game, and some of these folks suggest going in to their stadium with crap talking about how we dominate them, their team sucks...etc etc?

If we were 3-0, and a 1-2 Falcons/Saints fan came into OUR stadium after a defeat like we suffered last week, and sat front row and put up some similar poo like some are suggesting to be seen on TV, I'd gladly get kicked out of the game and possibly a ride to the county jail to tear that crap down/"accidentally" spill beer all over that dude, maybe come to blows, and whatever else it took to ruin that guys day!!

Some of the folks here (if these suggestions are to be taken seriously) are a classless as the worst Saints*** fans!

#1898309 Did The Team Overlook The Bucs?

Cant say the team overlooked them, but can say more than a few on this forum did the 38-10 (and the like) game predictions and all the talk about how easily we would trash them. It never fails to amaze me how folks who have no inside information, aren't a part of the organization, and only know what yahoo/espn/ misc. news outlets spits out, or otherwise their own loyalty, can say with such confidence that we will win against such and such team.

That's why I love this place..its always good for a few laughs. :D

Sadly as mentioned, though everyone hoped he would work out, he didn't, But rather than just leave the guy alone he is the favorite kicking toy for this forum.

Seems to me the best way would be to simply ignore him rather than continue to belittle a man who despite his failure in the NFL to date has tons more talent that anyone here commenting on how bad he is, or how his mother should regret giving birth, or all of the other snide remarks that get made. Serves no purpose to continue to insult the guy.

Not a fan of the Saints by any means...but wow it seems so childish when we finish with the pooty record we did, yet so many of our " self proclaimed classier than Saints' fans" fans come out with the nanner nanner poo poo when another team with a MUCH BETTER record falls.

Division rival aside...I'd rather a "Southern" team win over a west coast hippy ***** city, or a Yankee city anyday.

#1297667 Are we becoming the 'Steelers' of the NFC?

Teams have to do both to avoid being one dimensional. Look at when the saints finally won the Superbowl, they had a top 5 passing game and a top 5 running game as well as an improved defense.

A top running game improves your passing game and vice versa. Part of the reason our running game suffered last year was lack of a deep passing attack and keeping safeties out of the box. But a great passing game without any running game can be shutdown as well much like New York did to New England in the superbowl after the 2007 season.

Agreed. I don't mean to sound like the run game is invaluable, but as you mention, it needs to be balanced with at least something that resembles a passing game (something we had none of last season). Simple strong run, strong defense isn't going to cut it anymore.

So much talk about our team can afford to let him go because we have RB talent in reserves.

However the one thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is the fact that even though we have RB talent in full supply, all of it is somewhat questionable when we consider injuries, fumbles, split playing time...etc etc.

That might be all well and good for some other team, but we are a team that had atrocious QB play last year, and a team going into a season (hopefully a season) with no signed vet QB, Jimmy Clausen (scream) and rookie Cam. I know so many like to believe that Cam is going to part the skies like God and drop golden turds on Charlotte, but the undeniable fact remains that our running game is the only aspect of our offense that has PROVEN to be viable.

If I had any sense that we might be able to have at least a decent pass offense, I might feel ok with him leaving and putting the full load on JStew and the others. However again despite all the hype, Cam hasn't played a single down in the NFL, and we all saw what Clausen could do last year.

For the sake of having at least 1 decent aspect of our offense, and not ruining cam by putting him into a position where he may have to force passes more often, lets hope there is some way DW stays here~

#1198105 Matt Moore

For what its worth..I prefer MM to anyone on the roster. Given our current QB's..hes the only one who has shown any ability at all. Granted he played badly before he was pulled last season..but then again he played pretty dang well at the end of 2009. Cam may come out and blow MM and JC out of the water, but to date Moore is the only one we currently have who has stepped up (for at least a few games) and played well.

Not to say Moore is that awesome, or that Cam wont be..just saying Moore has at least shown something.

pretty much happens anywhere unions are involved

yes, and that is one of the main reasons unionized industries are failing and need to be bailed out. Sadly, I don't imagine a president coming to bail out the NFL the same way as was done for the auto industry.

Exactly. Lets take our own Steve Smith for example whos home for sale had pictures on this site. Now just because a player CAN afford to buy a house big enough for 25 people does not mean it is a prudent way to spend that money.

Regardless of the taxes/agents etc mentioned above..many players just let it go to their heads..buy out the clubs to host parties for their friends...roll around town in a 400,000 dollar car...etc etc etc. Now that is their right to do that because they can afford it...but I just have a problem when folks throw away all their money so easily, then complain they need more to cover health care costs that they were not prudent enough to plan for.

Frankly the way I see it..they are paid to play a very brutal game. Of course they are going to get hurt eventually, but that is the nature of the business they chose. Basically their job is to entertain and get hurt and as much as we are all entertained by the players..what other worker can walk into their company or office and look at the profit margin of said company or office and say to the boss they you are making too much money and need to pay me more. Doesn't happen anywhere else, and I dont see why it should happen here
