Canes Re-Sign McClement to Two-Year Deal

02 March 2015 - 02:00 AM

RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the Hurricanes have agreed to terms with center Jay McClement on a two-year contract extension. The deal will pay McClement $1.3 million in 2015-16 and $1.1 million in 2016-17.

Good signing by the Canes.

McClement, Malone, and Terry form one of the best fourth lines in the NHL combining for 41 points. McClement is also a HUGE reason why the Canes have the first ranked penalty kill in the NHL.

Big game tonight and if we want to make the playoffs these are the type of games that we have to win.

Not to mention three of the four teams we are competing with for a playoff spot are facing tough matchups tonight (Miami vs. New Orleans, Brooklyn @ Houston, and Indiana vs. Cleveland).

Tonight is a perfect opportunity to jump back into the 8th spot and gain a full game on Miami.

Expect Mo to go off against Boston's rookie point guard and don't be surprised if Cody has another solid outing against his brother.

Cho Is To Blame For Lance

25 February 2015 - 02:24 AM

With Michael Jordan as owner, however, Cho doesn't get the last word on decisions. According to a source familiar with Charlotte's inner workings, the voice that MJ relies on most is that of Curtis Polk, an analytics agnostic who conducts Jordan's business affairs and serves as the Hornets' vice chairman. And with pressure from Jordan to accelerate the Hornets' efforts to contend, the team made the ill-fated decision to sign Lance Stephenson over the objections of the analytics staff. ESPN.com

NOTE: Title supposed to read CHO IS NOT TO BLAME FOR LANCE (Mistyped the title).

Maybe this will cause people to change their opinion on Cho.

Should have not listened to Polk.

Hornets One of Five Teams Talking with Robinson

22 February 2015 - 07:18 PM

@ShamsCharania: Thomas Robinson has had discussions with the Spurs, Nets, Suns, Heat and Hornets, completing DEN buyout Sunday, league sources tell RealGM.

With the way Maxiell played last night I'd have no problem cutting him (and giving him his $1 mil) then signing Robinson to be Al's primary back up until Biz comes back.

We struggled to rebound the ball last night and that's one thing the 6-10 Robinson can do compared to the 6-7 Maxiell. Robinson actually averages 13.1 rpg per adjusted 40.
