#2825232 NFL.com Trope Alerts

Posted by megadeth078 on 20 June 2014 - 12:42 AM

Trope used in this sense has the same meaning as cliche, a common or overused theme or device.  Basically, what the author means by trope is "a bullsh*t non-story that we see every single offseason which should probably be ignored".   Stories like "Lousy team is going to shock the world" and "washed-up player claims he's never felt better" happen all the time and this guy is just trying to warn us not to buy into this nonsense.  Unfortunately, our team is guilty of perpetuating this fluff.

#2572455 Crowd noise caused the bad snap

I can't be the only one that cares.  They bailed the team out.

Everyone's like "lel falcons suk", but that place was pretty loud while they were on offense.

Nothing wrong with analyzing the game that just happened.

#2538516 The hit that could end Stewarts career... you make the call...

Posted by megadeth078 on 09 December 2013 - 05:09 PM

He wasn't going for Stew's feet to upend him, he was going for his knee.

Considering the team, seems the intent was less to get him out of bounds, but instead, off the field entirely.

All the more reason that our guys better be fired up when the Saints come to Charlotte.

Why should the Saints player assume he was going out of bounds?

Looks to me like the intent was to make a tackle.

#2536893 Why we all need to calm down

Posted by megadeth078 on 09 December 2013 - 12:07 AM

Do we really need to tell people to calm down an hour after the game ends?

We just got exposed as frauds on national television.  Let people vent.

#2528272 Mike Tomlin's Sideline Move

Posted by megadeth078 on 04 December 2013 - 07:07 PM

I hate to be the dissenting opinion but I think it was a ballsy move by a coach that wanted to win in a BAD way.
I mean seriously, how many other coaches would put their neck on the line like he did?
Plus, it makes the game soooo much more fun.
If he tried that kinda crap against the Panthers I would be furious. I think hypocrisy is allows when it comes to our boys.

Yeah, I don't want to sound like a square, but cheating is never okay.

#2526842 Time to nickname the defense. What say you?
