Congrats on BLET, just so you know some sheriffs offices require working in the jail first, so don't be surprised if they tell you that.

Also ask how they do overtime and if it's comp or not, the difference there can mean a few thousand dollars a year, for example I get overtime but a neighboring agency for me gets comp. also ask about if you get holiday pay or not

Reason being if two agencies are offering the same pay those questions can be easily the difference between $1-3k a year more in pay.

I would research the agencies too, try to have as many questions for them as they may have for you. And above all else be honest.

Whoa Olsen throwing shade at Shula

ohhh ohh ohhh

i think if you got Olsen throwing Shula under the bus, Shula needs to go, Olsen might be the most respected player on the offense

Not digging the social security part.
Also we are about 15 years away or so and the ss fund can no longer fund itself. Not. Good.

where I work we're required to pay in 7% of our paychecks into a state employee retirement fund, and then I have social security getting pulled out and I'll never see any of that ever again.

Right now I wish I could just opt out and do what I want with my own money, I'm fairly certain I could make better financial choices then some bureaucrat I've never met.

Now with that said I wouldn't trust my mom, older brother or younger sister with $0.50 so I guess it would be good for them because some people just can't get out of their own way

This is my favorite going out watch that I have, love how the numbers raise. My casual every day is a titanium bertucci mil-spec because I don't have to worry about messing it up.

OT. I just watched Aaron Rodgers get 11.85 seconds of solid protection. You want to know why Rodgers is one of the best, that's a big part of the reason.

Hell you could put me back there with 12 seconds and I could complete a pass for you

#3110482 regardless of the outcome of this game, Rivera needs to be fired tomorrow.

Posted by Doc Holiday on 30 November 2014 - 02:36 PM

I'm with you Red, too many of our status quo-loving fan base want to give him a pass for last season's haphazard success he wondered into.

i don't think anyone is behind Rivera anymore, if there is anyone it's not enough to matter

#3100616 Job offer advice

Posted by Doc Holiday on 22 November 2014 - 04:47 AM

I'd say fug the loan and take the job, especially if the pay raise is right, it may push your plans for a house back a bit but it will pay off more in the long run.

I'm right now saving up so I can buy a house with my next move, which will be anywhere from 8-24 months down the road. I know that's a big spread, but I never looked at where I am now as more then just a stepping stone for bigger and better things down the road. And if I don't get the position I want this July I'm making a break for Asheville, which is where I really want to be anyway.

If it wasn't for him being in Wisconsin(southern boy ain't got time for those winters), I'd put an application in with them today, that's the type of clarity and support you want for someone like him in this line of work.

#3093609 With everything that's gone on this season, Panthers still control their...

Posted by Doc Holiday on 17 November 2014 - 03:54 PM

Yep, you heard that right, panthers can still win the division, with a little help we could still win with another loss... That's how good of a position we're in.

And it's all because we tied with the Bengals.

We still have to play the Saint and Falcons in their houses, and the saints and falcons still have to go for round two themselves.

Now do I think we can pull this off and make the playoffs? Hell no. Honestly I doubt I'll watch another game for the rest of the year after what happened yesterday.

I guess you could say at this point I am finding humor in this disaster from the NFCS.

#3082209 1st take destroys the Panthers FO, "Panthers Sold Cam Newton Out"

Posted by Doc Holiday on 11 November 2014 - 03:51 PM

I think the money was always the most important thing to Hardy.

And yeah, it's his right to be that way. Still...

name a player that doesn't play in the NFL for the money and fame. Anyone you name I'll call bullshit on because there ain't a single damn one of them playing for free.

I don't fault players for making money, or for it being their sole motivator, I work my job right now for the pay and benefits and nothing more, so I'm supposed to judge a player for doing the same just because he makes more then me? Ain't gonna do that, I say more power to them.

I believe everyone has the right to make as much as they can as fast as they can because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Remember the NFL is a business first and foremost, a lot of people forget that but people stop player for the love of the game after college.

#3076180 Trent Dilfer: " I'm ashamed of what the Panthers are doing to Cam".

Posted by Doc Holiday on 10 November 2014 - 07:04 PM

Who among the talking heads is calling out Shula or Rivera. The comments are about the offense and the o line which is personnel. The only thing you can say is whether Shula developed Cam and that is what he has done best. It seems the fan base is doing most of the bitching and most fans don't have a clue.

clearly you don't remember all the uproar over the initial announcement of Shula being hired as the offense of Coordinator everyone was pissed off. And a lot of what is going on right now was pointed to as reasons that Shula should not be hired at the time he was.

I've stated on here before I feel like some days that I'm the only one cursed with a memory that goes back further than the current season, heck the last three games for that matter.

Fans on here get far too caught up in the moment and don't look at the bigger picture there were warning signs that this is going to happen two years ago.
